I bought this umbrella last year and it only lasted about 1 month. The crank that opens and closes did not work properly. I would be able to open it, but then I could not close the umbrella. I would have to take the umbrella off and fool with it to get it to close. I could not find my receipt in order to return it. The thing is, I love the look of this umbrella and would like to buy another one. I don't know if this was just a fluke or if the size of the umbrella could have bent something in it from the wind blowing.

Maybe I set my expectations a little to high because of how much it cost. The umbrella pole is very flimsy thin wall aluminum. There is a lot of flexure in the pole, which could be eliminated if they used better materials. The tilt feature would work great if the pole was stronger. Unless you are dead set on having this matching umbrella, I would recommend spending the money on a different umbrella. There are plenty of other color choices/patterns that will go with the dining set.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by MichaelCa An umbrella is only as good as its base
This is a beautiful umbrella. Unfortunately - and mystifyingly to me - the manufacturer neither bundles with nor recommends an appropriate base. I ordered a base, installed everything and in one small gust, the base tipped and shattered, the umbrella crashed into my deck railing and snapped it. If you order this, get as wide and as tall a base as possible...it's a big umbrella. And I just had my deck repaired and re-stained in July. Sigh.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by kristen It doesn't stay upright
This umbrella came much later than promised and was defective in that it only tilts but it won't stay straight up....and it spins around quite a bit in the umbrella stand...unusable.....going back.....even though I have the matching table and chairs I am hesitant to replace....I will try another brand.....I don't love the table either as there is no where for water to go so it sits on top.....

The umbrella is a nice shape, and tilts very nicely, the only thing that was not good is that it didn't come with the stand to put it into. All the pictures show it, and I bought the whole collection, no where was it mentioned that it was a separate purchase, included with all the pop-ups that showed what else was in the collection it wasn't listed.

We love the tilt feature on this umbrella and the size is perfect. We did not use it in a patio table but as a free staning unbrella on our deck for use with our patio loveseat and chairs. I just wished Home Depot sold a heavier base for this umbrella and cover that would fit it. The base shown in picture was not heavy enough to keep if from wobbleing.

This is a lovely umbrella. Covered our large heavy iron table. Set in a tall stand. The smallest breeze would take it. We always tried to remember to close when not using which was a pain. Yesterday apparently a small breeze took it and broke the pole. Very poor design. Prior to this the tilt button broke. Would not recommend

It rocked and creaked in winds when in up position. Today, we had wind gusts of 30-40 mph and I came back to our house to discover the wind had caused it to break. Only thing is that I didn't have it in the up position. Now, since less that 1 year old I need to see if I can get my money back.
