The set has poor finish. Upon arrival most of the finish/lacquer was on the packing wraps leaving some bald spots on the furniture. The surfaces are rough. The table had a crack, and there is no way I can mail it or bring it back to the store, as the table is huge. Also the small cracks and holes on the table and chairs appear to have been fixed with some filling. So the manufacturer knew about the issues and fixed them.
I don’t think this item can be considered as new - more like refurbished. I feel cheated that I paid 650 for this.
The set is made in Vietnam.
The look is great, kind of rustic. The expandable table is very convenient. The chairs are very large/wide.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Smartconsumer Good if you are looking for a table and chairs to last 1 season
I, like most of us, read reviews. I researched this set for three months before purchase. The table and chairs look great and I followed all of the tips such as oil it, etc. However, wants it was exposed to weather it was all over. The table grayed as well as the chairs. So I power washed and oiled again. The reason that I am writing this review is that I am searching for new table. If a grayed out table is what you are looking for then this is the table for you. The only way I would recommend this table would be of if was in an enclosed porch.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Chris Great Quality For The Price
I was hesitant about purchasing this patio set after reading these reviews. I recently purchased this product at 50% off and I could not be more pleased. The product is sturdy and looks fantastic! As soon as I put the set together, I immediately treated with Teak Oil and I am more than pleased with this set. I was not expecting the quality for the price and I would repurchase this product at the full price if I had too. I would recommend this patio set to anyone.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Jcjd Satisfied, but could be better.
The table we received was fine, no problems. 5 of the 6 chairs were not level and rocked side to side a little. One chair had the hole for the screw stripped out. To homedepot's credit, they sent me 5 new chairs. They actually sent 6, one was cracked and unusable. The others all had the same issue of not being level. The simple fix was the little pads you put on the chair legs, but needless to say you shouldn't have to do that with brand new chairs.

I purchased this set at full price, I sanded, oiled and repaired the cracks upon arrival, it looked good and I wrote a good review last year at this time. I thought it would last though the winter covered up. Not so, I'm now sanding and repairing this set again and will stain and seal it this time! It really wasn't worth the trouble. I don't think I would even purchase it at this discounted price.

It's a solidly built table and chairs, durable for outdoors, eucalyptus wood looks great, I took some fine sandpaper and coconut oil to smooth out the rough surface wherever people might touch, especially the tender and sensitive underside of shirtless arms.
Too bad one of the chairs had a broken side and we are waiting almost two weeks for the replacement part

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Frank Nice design - poor quality finish
This set is nicely designed for the money, but the finish on top is ruined and the wood splintering after one season. We have even treated it with Tung Oil to little effect. A similar set we bought from COSTCO fared much better outside. They need to step up the quality of the finish or the Martha Stewart brand isn't worth much. The underside of the furniture still looks perfect.
