Customer Reviews

Seal Harbor Collection 3-Light Polished Nickel Plated Vanity Light is rated 3.6 out of 5 by 18.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Attractive unit but low quality My wife pushed for this since I am not a huge fan of Martha Stewart products( consistent low quality and high price) . While the unit is quite attractive ( at least initially) it is cheaply made , especially for the price. I hold little faith that it will last for an acceptable period . Installation was not any more difficult than the other units I've installed but again, the decorative rings that fit over the globe don't seat all that well and it's just another example of the low quality of the unit. When it rusts ( and it will) I'll go back and buy a better quality unit and still pay the same price! Really Martha, it's about more than just looks.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from WARNING: Beware of the Design Defect The Martha Stewart 3-light Seal Harbor Vanity Light DOESN'T work with the Seal Harbor Medicine Cabinet in the SAME collection. The Vanity Light doesn't extend far enough out from the wall to look out over the flush-mounted Medicine Cabinet. Really, Home Depot? I've already had the Vanity component of the collection installed, so now I'm going to have to rig up a mounting box of some sort, try to match the paint color, then get the electrician to come in a second time. NOT what I expected from buying all component out of the SAME collection.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from This product has some good features but does include a design defect. I bought the entire Seal Harbor Collection. Mostly I am very pleased with how it looks and is constructed. Must say though, I was surprised that the three-light vanity fixture did not fit over the medicine cabinet. The light hits the middle of the top of the cabinet as the "neck" of the fixture is not long enough.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from The product was a disappointment Our personal experience is that the adapter did not fit a round outlet box and, once installed, the globes appeared to have chips or spotty coating and one globe had a very rough surface at the bottom of the globe and a line on the globe that appeared to be a guide line for cutting the part of the globe that faced down. It was very visual when the lights were on and very unattractive.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Rusty While this light feature is pretty it does not withstand any moisture in a bathroom. We have a good ceiling fan but the nickel still rusts. We have purchased this fixture twice and had the same experience. Would not recommend this product. Thanks. Lainey

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Setup is infuriating The light would look good enough if you can actually get the mounting plate to successfully mate with the electrical box and then the fixture. The threaded screw holes are useless unless your electrical box is oriented perfectly in the wall and the only way to mount it otherwise is to have the plate sliding loosely on the box and then the fixture mounted loosely on the plate. I have installed many lighting fixtures before and this is the worst setup I have ever seen.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice looking, hard installation I liked the looks of this unit, which of course is why I bought it. However, I had a few installation issues. First - a minor issue, the box on my wall is a standard rectangular single gang box like a light switch would go in - the mounting plate did not easily fit over it but I was able to drive screws straight into the studs instead. I also had to pound the mounting plate onto the wall and make holes in the sheet rock because it has things that stick out on the back (like the fixture mounting posts - see next problem) Second - the mounting posts that hold the light to the "Circular strap" mounting plate are about 1/2 inch too long. Therefore when I put the ball nuts on, the light is not securely pulled to the wall. So now I'm left wondering if the posts are too long or whether it is proper/safe to back them off (the directions make no mention of this). But of course - the head of the screws are on the back side - so I need to remove the fixture & mounting plate & wiring, turn the screws, put fixture back on wall, test length, repeat. Plus one of the screws is up against the sheet rock - so I'll need to drill a hole to make room to back-off the screw. I suppose I could cut the screws - but how to measure the exact length?! Or make a trip to buy shorter screws. Ugh. Because the head of the screw is on the backside I suspect it is a mistake and the screws are too long. I used string to tie the unit to the mounting plate so that I could let go of the fixture while wiring it up. Otherwise this would have been a three hand job and I only have two.
