Customer Reviews

Spring Lake Recyclable Wood Alternative Patio Bench-DISCONTINUED is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 9.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Slats all damaged The bench seating is supposed to come as a single unit (with the individual slats glued in place), but in mine, all of the slats were jumbled together in the box with the tenons either broken off or dislodged. The machining of the slats also was uneven. I was forced to epoxy them in one by one, and even then, some came loose, forcing me to screw them in place. The bench was reduced by 50% in price perhaps for that reason, but it was not communicated to me at time of purchase. Of course, the pain factor of reboxing and reshipping the item back to HD outweighed spending extra time to assemble it and fix the problems. Generally unsatisfied.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from extremely poor quality and damaged missing pieces, broken pieces, quality is extremely poor. Between the 2 benches, we had enough enough pieces to put together one bench which we are sorry we wasted our time doing. looking for an exchange or complete refund.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sturdy well built Shipping carton protects product well. Easy to assemble with basic tools. Fasteners did not appear to be galvanized nor stainless steel. That is a concern for long term durability; especially in coastal areas. Overall well worth the price. Similar faux wood benches cost a lot more

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice looking and well worth the price As a ocean zone home owner, my previous wooden benches were eaten up by termites and needed yearly staining to protect the wood from salt air. This looks good, needs little maintenance, and won't get termites! Works well. Only drawbacks...I needed to get stainless steel hardware (it should come with it) and it's a tad flimsy for big folk like me.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid bench THe 1st bench shipped to me was a disaster (missing pieces, broken pieces, etc.,), and after some time-consuming discussions and e-mails, was sent a 1st quality replacement. The 1st bench came with the seat "unassembled", whereas the second bench came with the seat fully assembled. Made quite a difference. I bought the bench to match the Martha Adirondack chairs - quality is exc on the chairs, bench also good, but the hardware is visible on the bench.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from A screw was missign from the package. A screw was missign from the package, and I'm too lazy to go to the nearby Home Depot to get a replacement screw. Meanwhile, I can't have my guest use it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good looking bench! My bench arrived very quickly after I ordered it. The seat was all put together (one piece)- unlike some of the other reviews I read- so assembly was pretty easy. The look is nice and it seems pretty sturdy. I like the idea of having a wood look without the usual care real wood requires to keep it nice looking with exposure to weather. I have only had my bench for a week- I'll see how it holds up over the years to come! Overall, I would recommend this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good bang for the buck. This bench is the perfect finishing piece in our new shade garden. It is a sturdy composite wood that had easy to follow instructions. I was able to put it together by myself, although admittedly an extra set of hands to balance would have been helpful. It is early to tell, but seems to weather the rain storms and weekly irrigation system well. The price is the deal breaker, a great bargain. It was delivered within days of ordering, another bonus.
