Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by A relative bargain if you can deal with some quality shortcomings. Was looking for a 6-panel door in the 30x80" form factor, and this fit the bill. Picked it up from the local HD and it seemed sturdy and well packaged, with plastic bumpers in the appropriate places for safe transport. There were several quality issues that are somewhat perplexing for a mass-produced item. First of all, the beams of the door jamb did not all line up in the same plane. One of them was shifted by approximately 1/10" which required either planing or shimming to square up for the door trim. Secondly, none the hinge screws going into the door were perpendicular to the door! Really? These are countersink screws and it's obvious virtually no care was taken by whoever installed them, they are at every which angle and it is frankly unacceptable for a consumer-grade product to have such sloppy assembly. Being it is a clunky item, I elected to accept the issues rather than make the return. I will see about repairing the sloppy screw installation at a later date. On the plus side, once the jamb was adjusted correctly the door fit quite tightly. The bottom seal is very tight and the door requires a decent amount of force to get the latch to catch, hopefully this will loosen up a bit with more use. The pre-cut doorknob and deadbolt holes were a great timesaver, however the deadbolt strike plate is not a match for the Schlage Camelot strike plate so I'll have to mortise that to get the fit right. The steel stamping is well done and I anticipate this door lasting a long long time. December 20, 2015
