Customer Reviews

32 in. x 80 in. Premium 9 Lite Primed Steel Prehung Front Door with Brickmold is rated 3.6 out of 5 by 11.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good product for a good price I bought this door to put in a kitchen I was renovating. It was an extra that I tbrew in for the client so she could finally have access to her backyard instead of just a window to look at it. I could of found it a little cheaper but for the convience of just going to the Depot and picking one up,it was a good deal. Looks good and functions as it should. Easy to install

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good door for the money. This was an easy door to install. Step 1 is to throw the instructions in the trash. They are a convoluted bunch of junk. Go to "This Old House" website and follow the instructions for installing a front door. One thing that I do before putting the casing on is stick lots of wedges between the door and the jamb on both sides and the top, then use some door and window spray foam. There's nothing worse than bowing a jamb. After reading some of the reviews I can only think that some people should not be allowed to buy a hammer. This review is by a retired carpenter and I've hung a lot of doors.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Seconds An atypical Masonite door, this one took significantly longer to install than usual. The latch strike jam routing and holes for strike plates were off 1/4 ". I rerouted and drilled with a Dremel. The door jam now required an extra half inch piece of board to span the strike plate area and give it sufficient strength. Next I used 2.5" decking screws to mount the strike plate through the miss machined jam, reinforcement board, and into the stud. Finally I filled the more obvious machining holes and primed. The jam looks as good as new. Next the exterior window frame had to be removed to take care of a burr that caused 1/8" too much caulk to be applied and the frame to raise from the door surface. The rest of the door was fine. Installation instructions were clear and sufficient, except for the repairs. I did not closely inspect this door prior to purchase. A return required a two or three hour trip down 80 miles of winding road to the store.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid Door - Great Install The door is really solid, and sealed really well. Like no air is going to get through it. This replaced a similar door and there is no comparison. The glass lets in a lot of light, is really thick, and the door is well constructed. Doesn't stick at all, and has a lot of quality weather stripping around the whole frame. The installers were total pros. They did an amazing job, were friendly, and cleaned up afterwards.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good solid door I bought two of these masonite doors and had them installed by Home Depot's contractor. He did a good job except he did not install a metal flashing over the exterior door leading out onto my deck. The prior contractor had also failed to install one (resulting in the rot out of the previous door). I had to hire someone else to take care of the flashing issue. Since these doors were already primed I thought they could easily be painted. NOT. Paint comes off like the door is coated in teflon. Using HD's BEHR exterior enamel paint. Very frustrating. Paint comes off with any minor scratch.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great door for the price Bought these doors to replace a door on our sunroom and one in the basement. I wanted a door that would let the light in, which they do. They were easy to install although I had to remove the brick mould from the door I put in the basement because of the brick opening. I ripped 1/2 inch off of the moulding and reinstalled it back onto the casing. The weather stripping is good but not as good as a Stanley steel door. which is magnetic. Home Depot used to sell Stanley doors, but not any longer. I think the Stanley door is a better door. The only draw back to the Stanley door is, the door is only primed and needs to be painted. I chose these doors because of the reviews, over doors from Lowes.
