Customer Questions & Answers

How do I determin right hand or left hand on an inswing entry door?

Asked by: M1
Open the door and stand with your back to the door hinges. If the door is on your right side then it is a right-hand door and if it is on your left, then a left-hand door.

can this door be set up to outswing?

Asked by: grunt
"Guess" answer above is wrong... This door comes with a "sill" which is one-way. You do not want the outside part of the door sill inside of your house and vise-versa. Therefore, you cannot just "flip the door around", contrary to the mis-leading wrong answer above. You should just order a door that can out-swing and that will have the outside part of the door-sill on the outside of the structure.

32 in. x 80 in. Premium 9 Lite Primed Steel Prehung Front Door with No Brickmold is rated 3.3 out of 5 by 10.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Looks Good & Easy to install I've had this door for 18 months now and really love it. For the price, it's a great buy... sturdy, pretty... you have to look very closely to see any flaws. I didn't have any problems with installation - the door was a perfect fit.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poorly manufactured Door was manufactured with the threshold seal bottomed out leaving no adjustment after installation. I did not realize this until after I had completed the installation. I removed the door and only then did it become apparent that no matter what I tried the door seal was going to wear out prematurely. The threshold SHOULD have been raised at least 1/16" before assembly. I guess I could remove the seal on the door and plane the bottom down and reinstall but it sure seems like a lot of work for something that should have been built right to begin with!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great door for the price We bought 2 of these doors, 1 for our garage and 1 for the kitchen. We are pleased with the appearance. The frame around the windows is plastic, which isn't fabulous. We also had a hard time finding 2 in store that weren't damaged. Otherwise they are solid doors and paint well with the proper paint. (They're steel, so don't use just any paint. )

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hard to Make s Mistake Pretty straight forward. The only time I deviated from the instructions was when they suggested using two people to move and position the unit. Since they were so right about that, I didn't dare wander away from the script again. It looks great. Works fine. And the instructions are spot on. Unless you don't need a door you won't regret it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from In through the out door The door overall is a good buy for the price. I love the way the threshold adjust up or down buy the turn of the screws. The only thing I did not like was the fact that the screws in the hinges were not driven in staight most of them were put in on an angel causing the door to bind when closed. I really am not please by this flaw, and have seen this with other masonite doors. This is why I gave it a 3 Come on Masonite a little quality control please

We had to sort through them: some had the window grid buckled along the edges, some had the steel showing in the corners, ALL had the window putty oozing out. Not sure if the messy workmanship was because they were rushing to get doors to flood recovery areas or if they are always like this. We are not experienced with door installation so the one we did was difficult for us however my carpenter installed the other and had no issues. When we installed the door hardware (btw the doors came with TWO holes so deadbolt, doorknob is required) the door part fit excellent with no trouble. The frame side needed to be chiseled out for the face plate to fit flush. Doors are weighted well so closing them is easy. Overall I'm happy with them.
