Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Do NOT Trim This Door This door looks nice until you start to hang it. This is when you will realize the door is actually a veneered door that allows zero trimming to fit your jambs. I needed to trim a bit and quickly found out, that was not going to happen because the veneer began to peel off. Now I am left with trying to find a solution to repair this door and still have the clearance I need. I am now wondering if my boring bits will work with this type of construction without blowing out the veneer on the stiles. I would not recommend this door to anyone who would use it outdoors and if you do use it I would seal it with a very good sealer like CPES before you PAINT it. I may have to discard this door after all if I am unable to reveneer a suitable piece back on. So disappointing these days how the quality is so poor on so many items. All looks good on the outside but is junk on the inside. I know the price should have given it away but come on, there should, at least, be some material to work with especially on a door blank that is likely to be used in unusual situations. May 30, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Paint Only! If you want to stain this door, do so only if you want the "rustic", splotchy look. .Unlike the unfinished door which looks pretty good, It does not satin evenly, even if you use the Minwax stain preparation, which I found to be useless on this door...I assume it would be much better if it were painted. To bad there is not a warning about the results of using stain, but I guess that would discourage people from buying one, and sales and profits are what it is all about. May 2, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Don't try to stain this door I don't know what I was expecting because of the inexpensive price, but certainly more than what I received. Extremely thin veneer over cheap lumber is what I got. Do not attempt to stain this door. There are glue spots closing the grain leaving splotches throughout the door. Veneer is so thin and poorly applied you don't want to do any but the lightest sanding by hand [which will not remove the glue.] Grain and wood color is mismatched. Center panels are the same [pressure laminated veneer over cheap substrate]. I will end up painting it. For that I could have bought another less expensive and better quality door. A huge waste of labor in it already. See attached pictures. [Sorry, after 3 attempts to upload pics I gave up. Server problem at Home Depots end, 504 gateway timeout.] July 12, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Fir Door The description says fir and no sub spieces that is not true it is fir skinned and the sides are only 1/8 thick. so if you need to cut the width. You can only cut it down 3/16 to be safe. 36x80 is an accurate measurment. Now I didn't realy think I was getting a solid fir door for that price. They should tell you up front about its construction and its limitations for adjustment. The door came strapped to a pallet and had strap marks on the door. This is not a opinion but fact, This door will work for me but should be installed by a craftsman. August 6, 2011
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by door leaks We purchase this door last year had our FIRST big rain and the door leaks from the seams on the inside!!! UGH March 27, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not a good door This door looks bad after painting. We have painted and stripped it 3 times and it still doesn't look good. It will not dry. I would not recommend this door to anyone. October 7, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by The door was just OK In general, it is a nice looking door at a good price . However, the one I received had a small gouge on one side and strange lines in the wood on the other. Not unexpected given that it is a wood door but a little disappointing. May 14, 2011
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Good price This door has a good price but has to be installed by a professional which cost me 400.00. It does look nice but it is obviously not solid wood throughout hence the price point. September 4, 2012
