Customer Questions & Answers

can this door be cut to 26 x 78?

can this door be cut to 26 x 78?
Asked by: cb
Hello cb, It is not recommended to cut off that much since you would void warranty on your door. Masonite allows trimming of 1/4" off of each side, 1" off of the bottom, and none on the top. Exceeding any of these will automatically void you warranty.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly what i was looking for The door was installed with barn door hardware and has worked very well. The weight does not interfere with the operation in any way - it glides easily and can be opened with minimal effort. The glass panel allows light into the hall even when closed from the kitchen. My contractor handled the installation so i can't speak to the ease or difficulty, but I'm very happy with the final product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice door for the price The end result was better than I expected for an inexpensive glass door. Putting up a slab door is more work than I expected, but the door finish was perfect for painting. I liked how the glass was prepped for painting as well, but the coated plastic covering the door was a little sloppy in places and you couldn't see through it to check the condition of the glass. There were a few spots where the plastic was torn slightly, and one spot had a little of paint that got onto frosted glass. Luckily I was able to get it off without damaging the frosted glass (used a little nail polish remover). Came out really nice though. My only concern the whole time was waiting until the very end to see if the glass was okay since I couldn't see it until after I installed and painted it. I guess I could have painted it before hanging it, but I still had already planed and drilled it.
