Thank you for contacting MasterFlow ... No, This application is not recommended for our fan. All of our motors are air cooled open frame which are not compatible with this application, as this could pose a fire hazard. Please call Technical Services at 800-211-9612 with any additional questions.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Product Be careful when you buy this item because you need to buy exterior paint roof to protect this fan for rush June 25, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by So glad I got it This fan works as described. It is so quiet, I have to open the attic door to tell if it is working. The only flaw is the thermostat. Like many low-tech devices, you should not trust it. I checked with a glass/alcohol thermometer and it was off by almost 10 degrees. I just reset the thermostat to reflect reality and it works perfect. It has lowered my A/C time significantly. June 12, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Cool! I live in hot, humid, Houston. My house is two stories with open areas over the "greatroom," living room, and entry. In the summer, one could not venture upstairs between 1 p.m. and 8 p.m. because it was so hot. I installed this power vent and now the upstairs stays the same temp as the downstairs. The upstairs airconditioning unit even turns off in the evening. So, I am a lot cooler and I expect to save on my electric bill. This is easy to install. I just put it where there was an existing vent (even when the fan is not running, it still vents) so I didn't have to cut a hole in the roof. The instructions are excellent and easy to follow. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great value. I bought this vent for a small green house. It was straight forward to install. I just followed the instructions and was careful handling it because it's kind of easy to damage before it's instlled, bulky. I stand right under it while it's running in the green house and it's about the same noise as my box fan on medium, much quieter than I thought it was going to be. Thermostat works great. I used a $3 can of spray paint and made it brown so it didn't show up as bad on the roof. I thought it was a great value and I am very happy with the outcome. Oh, the local store had it for $69 on the shelf and when I told them it was on the web for $56 they price matched with no problem. July 6, 2009
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Dead in 2 weeks I bought this unit to vent an attic of an interior townhouse. The installation was very easy and within a couple of hours the fan was running. It did a great job of keeping the second floor comfortable but after 2 weeks I noticed that it was hot again. I went into the attic to find that the fan was no longer working. I checked all the electrical connections and found them in good order. I then tried by-passing the thermostat but as it turns out the motor is blown. Guess I will have to wait to Monday to see what the company is going to do about it. Apparently I am not the only one this has happened to. I just wish I would have read the reviews before I bought this unit. Save yourself the trouble and don’t buy this fan. June 19, 2010
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Fan has a slight vibration. Once fan was installed, it seems to not be properly balanced and it does transfer a vibration into the structure of the house. This is very noticeable when directly under fan in attic space, but less noticeable in the living space. My concern is this vibration may affect the expected lifespan for this unit. But, for the money, I am not sure what one should expect. June 10, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Motor failed at about 5 years. Lots of work to replace it. Made in China naturally. Find a brand made in the U.S. Appliance motors should last 20-30 years. Installing a roof vent really helps reduce the temperature of the house and reduce the A/C usage. Installation by a private guy was about $150. Just don't buy this brand. Going to look for the receipt amongst the large box of HD receipts. June 21, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Motor Just burned out... Guess I am just adding one more log to the fire. I installed two of these last Summer. Worked great, quiet and installed easily. However, the motor burned out on the one this past spring. The other is still working. Thinking about taking the burned motor apart to see what happened. if its just brushes or a condenser, it might be an easy and cheap fix. Yes I could call the company and see what they can do, but I didn't keep the box, instructions or receipt... so I'll take the $70 stupid penalty. September 16, 2010
