Customer Reviews

1250 CFM Power Roof Mount Vent in Black is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 15.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from top quality unit Had to replace my 15 year old attic fan. You do not need to go on the roof, just take the old unit out with the spoke brackets and re-install new unit. This new fan was easy to install. This unit has a sealed bearing so no need to spray shaft with oil, This new unit has a capacitor which is a newer design in the last two years, its's purpose is to lower the amp's after start up to converse and save electricity costs, starts ups with electricity is more energy expenditure vs running constant. This new unit handles up to 2400 square feet, Manufacturer recommends setting thermostat at 100 instead of 90 to run slighly less. Noise level is not an issue for me. When you install the thermostat, use the taps to secure on rafter, there is a key hole size in back that needs to be open for the thermostat to regulate.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Installation difficult due to screen problem I don't like to give negative ratings, but this product deserves it. The package was bent by the delivering agent, and the metal screen at the top of the vent used to keep birds and other pests out was bent. Took over two hours to repair so the blades would turn as product was poorly made. Easy to install if the screen had not been bent. Took the top off and straightened, but then when I put it back on, the screen compressed causing the same problem. Finally had to cut out some of the screen to get the blades to turn. Too much work.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from So far so good. Living in south texas, it get's very hot very quick. Our house we bought had an existing attic fan but would not power on and the fan blades had seized. I decided to replace it because our house would get very hot and our a/c would run from about 11am - 9pm NON-STOP! I was hoping the attic fan would help push out the hot air in the attic and help with the a/c. The install was easy being i only had to remove the old and install the new. Powered it up and it was working. Prior to that, working in the attic was unbearable during the day and even early evening. NOW, it's much more comfortable, though still warm but a huge difference than before. Turns out i don't have enough insulation so my next plan is to get some spray cellulose insulation on the floor throughout the attic to help with our a/c and not have it run all day. can only do so much when it gets 98*+ all summer. I have noticed the a/c to hold it's temperature until about noon and cool the house a little quicker at night so it may have helped some but i still need to get some more insulation up there. right now i only have about 4" of it on the floor but i may wait until fall to do that project. I would still recommend this attic fan for someone who would have to go into the attic at times. maybe next time shell out the money for the solar powered one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Surprisingly quiet and moves a lot of air I bought this unit only for the motor, fan blades, and inner assembly. I needed to replace a twenty year old fan that was screeching and finally died. This unit was of nearly identical diameter. The depth was a couple of inches greater due to the more powerful, larger motor but it still fit well in the existing housing. What a difference this fan made! Even when our old attic fan worked, it wasn't all that effective. It was about 750 CFM, which was marginal for our 1500 square foot attic in the hot and humid Georgia summer. This Master Flow 1250 CFM fan increased our air flow by 67% and it gets the job done. We set it in 105 degrees, the temperature recommended in the installation materials. Our experience is that during the hottest, most humid part of the summer, it will switch on around noon and run mostly continuously until about 6 pm to keep things at 105 or lower. Still, that's during the absolute worst heat, and managing to drop the attic from 130 to 140 degrees down to 105 is well worth it. It's achieving good air pull through the gables on the sides of the attic. Best of all, the fan is very quiet for one with a relatively powerful motor. With the attic door shut, I can barely hear it going in the hallway under the door. Once I walk into one of the adjacent rooms, I cannot hear it at all. No problems with vibration sounds so far. The fan appears to be well made. Overall, this purchase was worth the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from NIce replacement for an older Master Flow fan. Replaced 10yr old Master Flow fan with this one. Thermostat working good so far. Have not been through the grueling desert summer yet but so far happy with this purchase. Replaced it myself and used a tub of roof sealant underneath base.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good Product, But Rain Enters I purchased two of these ventilators and they perform fine. They were installed per the written instructions including mounting the fans the recommended distance below the roof ridge. Recently they were exposed to a strong thundershower with some wind. Rain was blown up under the hood. Water droplets collected under the hood and on the critter screen and then the water dripped down into the house. Such a rainstorm is not an every day event, but still the design should not allow this to occur in a rainstorm. After all, what will happen during a hurricane, as occurs in my area? According to the product overview, these are approved by Miami Dade County and Texas Dept of Insurance, which to me means they are suitable for use in a hurricane area. This was one of the key reasons I purchased this particular fan. As a minimum they should be provided with a rain shield below the upper side of the fan hood to minimize rain being blown under the hood. Also, the manufacturer should ship the fans is a sturdier box. The flashing and hood on both fans were bent. Considering how flimsy the shipping box was damage is highly likely with normal handling .
