I have installed two of these master Flow PR3 roof mount fans in my two attics. I prefer this high end one for the longer 10 year warranty and larger volume of air movement. The construction is simple but made from durable gauge galvanized sheet steel. The motor is rated to draw 2.45 amps (this equates to 1/3 hp) and moves air very efficiently. Proper mounting is essential. Using a paint paddle, liberally coat the "entire" back of the mounting flange with roofing tar, about 1/3 gallon and nail securely as recommended in the instructions. (instructions show caulk gun seal) This eliminates vibration and provides quiet operation and extends the life of the motor bearings. Also make sure there is an adequate amount soffit vents for air intake to meet or exceed the fans exhaust air volume of 1600 cfm to minimize strain on the motor. Easy calculations can found on the web. This is usually the biggest oversite with exhaust fan installation.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0Â by SDWRN31 Very fair price. Like the fact that it has both a temperature and humidity control that I can set as desired.
Just had this professionally installed on out roof in late Feb. The installer said it was pretty easy to put it in. As we are in coastal NC, the attic space where our large furnace pieces are located gets extremely hot in the late summer. I had put up one of those stick-up pull lights (no electricity needed) and it got so hot up there the unit actually warped. Since we are by the ocean, we obviously have high humidity levels at times. We have had a LOT of rain in the past month and the attic space is comfortable and not at all humid...good sign. No use for the temperature fan yet, but am satisfied the product will work as advertised.

I Installed this Fan in a 24X36 addition with a lean to style roof. Installation took about 2 hours and it was up and running. I didnt have the ceiling installed yet and with out the fan the addition would get really hot to the point you couldnt work. After installation It dramatically reduced the temp in the whole addition. Now with the ceilings up the addition is cooler than the main house. Fan is quiet and really pulls the air through the overhang out through the roof. Havent had any problems but looks like maintenace would be easy to perform if something would go wrong 7 or 8 screws and whole assembly will come out and mounting flange stays in roof. I have no regrets installing this product in my roof.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0Â by Greg Great product
My attic was cooking my upstairs even with the ac on. I installed this unit along with 6 soffit vents, make sure you do this because to exhaust hot air you need intake air. Soffits are the best place as you want cool air entering the lowest point and hot exhaust air exiting the highest point. As an hvac installer, i'd say the best place to start saving money is good attic insulation and venting system then go for the high seer equipment it will save you tons!

I purchased two of these ventilator fans and they significantly reduced my attic temperature. Prior to installing these fans my attic temperature would reach as high as 160 degrees on the hotter days. After installing, temperatures in my attic are about the same as the outside air temperature, reducing the load on my air conditioning system. Very easy to install for a skilled person.
