Customer Reviews

36 in. Aluminum Replacement Shutter (for Master Flow Whole House Fan) in White is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Close, but no cigar. I ordered this replacement shutter for a Master Flow whole house fan AT my local HD. Unfortunately, they got the wrong size and it had to be sent back. This unit consists of a plastic frame (average, nothing out of the ordinary) and has sheet metal louvers with rolled edges. While the fan does a good job of moving a lot of air, the louvers are awful, they shake, rattle and make all kinds of noise while the fan is running. The original, poorly built unit finally shook itself to death and was sucked up and ingested (!) into the fan. After recovering from my heart attack, I shut it down and pulled all the pieces out. The louvers were completely trashed, and while it did bend two of the fan blades, I was able to straighten them enough for it to resume running. This replacement unit looks to be the same as the original, with the exception that it has a thin line of material along the edges of the louvers to help with some of the noise they make. I don't know how good that works yet until I get the correct, expensive replacement.
