Product Overview

The Master Flow 4 in. x 25 ft. Insulated Flexible Duct R8 Silver Jacket is used in standard Heating and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems and some venting applications. The duct has R8 insulation which contains 50% more insulation than the standard R4.2 product. This additional insulation provides greater thermal efficiency to save energy. The product is also covered in a heavy duty, silver jacket for durability. The duct is ETL listed, meeting the UL181 standard.

  • R8 fiberglass insulation for greater insulating power
  • Flexible duct is convenient for use in multiple applications including heating & A/C systems and some venting
  • Oversized core to connect quickly and easily to standard sheet metal fitting
  • Galvanized core wire for greater corrosion resistance vs. non-galvanized wire
  • Duct can be cut to length as needed
  • Insulated duct features a maximum temperature rating of 200 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Always install per instructions and seal using approved mastic or sealant (or approved tape)

Can this be used as a dryer vent for a clothes dryer?

I want to use this to connect my dryer to the in wall vent.
Asked by: zagnutbar
Not sure due to the heat affecting the plastic. I would use the aluminum version to be safe.

Why is a max flow of 30 CFM specified on this site? That is not correct. The actual for this 4-inch duct is at least 10X that (~300 CFM), which I confirmed with the manufacturer.

The product is made well, the only problem I had was when installing the duct to a register duct, it was very difficult to get the duct on the 4" metal duct because the size of the duct with the rib was way too tight and was unable to get the flex duct over the rib of the register duct for a proper fit, don't understand why it has to be so tight, but I got it to work by using a lot of duct tape.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Insulated vent hose Easy to install I used zip ties to hold inner hose in place and wrapped over tie with aluminum tape. Used zip tie on outer hose followed up with tape also. I did this on my home. I am not digging through insulation again.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from not for bath fan over 50 cfm Installing on exhaust fan? I recommend the Thermaflex KP 4 in. x 25' duct R8. At similar price with 10X the cfm!! It just makes sense

Rated 4 out of 5 by from nice product I was looking for a heavy insulated bath fan duct for a vertical replacement in a cold attic that was having sweating problems. This R8 product was the heaviest insulation I could find and it cured the problems. It installs nice - just cut through the insulation and then the vinyl duct - snip the wire - slide the insulation back and clamp the vinyl duct to the pipe - finish. The shipping was fast as well.
