Product Overview

The Master Flow 6 in. x 25 ft. Insulated Flexible Duct R6 Silver Jacket is used in standard Heating and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems and some venting applications. The duct has R6 insulation which contains 33% more insulation than the standard R4.2 product. This additional insulation provides greater thermal efficiency to save energy. The product is also covered in a heavy duty, silver jacket for durability. The duct is ETL listed, meeting the UL181 standard.

  • R6 fiberglass insulation for greater insulating power
  • Flexible duct is convenient for use in multiple applications including heating and A/C systems and some venting
  • Oversized core to connect quickly and easily to standard sheet metal fitting
  • Galvanized core wire for greater corrosion resistance vs. non-galvanized wire
  • Always install per instructions and seal using approved mastic or sealant (or approved tape)

Customer Questions & Answers

can it be installed right over the existing pipe?

I have a cold crawl space where my current heating pipe run through the wall - into the crawl space - up to the floor vent into the bathroom. The pipe is 5 inches. Can I install the 6 in. x 25 ft. Insulated Flexible Duct R6 Silver Jacket right over the existing 5 inch pipe to insulate the pipe leading to my bathroom??
Asked by: mitch
Yes, ...well kinda. if your doing new work and you have this product laying around (like i had) you can cut the piece to length, then carefully pull out the inner plastic duct, and slid the insulation over ridged ductwork. obviously not what its made for but works. "trust me im an engineer"

I have 7 inch ducts in two places can I use 6 inch ducting (insulated flexible) since you don't sell 7 inch?

Asked by: Ductguy1220
Yes but you must get a pipe reducer to connect them together with. Using zip ties and mastic will make the job put together better and will stay together better without leakiage ! You will also need mesh strapping to hang the pipe up with.

Can I use to exhaust bathroom water vapor?

Asked by: gardenlady
That is what I bought and used this for. I would just make sure to run your ventilation fan for a little while after the shower or whatever is causing the vapor to dry out any condensation that may have formed on the inside of the ducting.

can it be used for stove top vent tubing

Asked by: paddy
You should get the correct ducting for your stove top to avoid fire hazards and code violations. the home depot floor reps or pro desk manager should be able to help you. Also, you may save some money getting the correct stove ducting as HVAC ducting is expensive

We ordered two boxes of duct and the first box was two feet short even when we stretched it out and another three feet of insulation was missing from one end of the ducting. The second box was okay though the duct was 6 inches short. Fortunately, we had enough to do the job. Decent quality ducting and a good price, though you may want to measure it if the length is critical.

Both the outer foil layer and the inner plastic liner are very delicate and can be punctured or torn with normal handling. I bought both a 4" and 6" duct. On the 6" duct the support wire was detaching from the inner liner and I had to cut a foot off before it was attached all the way around.

I used this product for running a vent hose from a new exhaust fan in a bathroom. It was easy to work with and I liked the fact it was insulated so there shouldn't be any major condensation running back down into fan. Very flexible product. It is a pain to cut.
