I looked at this and thought at first, this was just too big for a duct. I was wrong, it is perfectly shaped for your 6" pipes, the tab of foil backed paper for taping was the best part of the product. I was able to use all 16 rolls of what I had purchased (I have a lot of duct work) installed and sealed with foil tape. Easy to cut, measuring is a snap to do so. Looks very professional after the installation. The big test was to see how much it increased the heat output throughout the vents around the house. Using a digital probe that my wife has for oven cooking, I tested the output temperature prior to the install and post install at various points throughout the house. The difference was as much as 34 degrees hotter than uninsulated. From my shortest run of pipe at 10' from the main trunkline to my longest, at 34', it absolutely has increased the temperatures of the furnace and it runs a lot shorter cycle now.
If you are looking for a smart product to purchase, this is the one. The only advice I would give is to have someone to help you. Getting your material around pipe that has already been installed is pretty difficult to do with one person.

Insulated my main duct that runs the length of the house. Definitely noticed the air coming out if the vents was much hotter. Even when the blower stopped the remaining air in the duct stayed warm instead of cooling immediately.

I had very tight areas in a crawl space where this insulation was applied/wrapped around duct work. I had to tug & pull to get the insulation through/around the ducts. It held up perfectly..Can't say enough about the reinforced foil cover on this not tearing one time and making a very arduous job, that much less painful by holding up and taking a beating on the install.

Fiber string built into the aluminum foil covering makes product quite durable during installation (doesn't readily rip unless you are excessively abusive). Heat transfer from furnace ducts was noticeably reduced after installation. The cardboard boxes used to ship the product could use some serious upgrading. I received two separate orders and in both cases the cardboard boxes had split seams and were popped open. It would be unfair to completely blame the shipping company for the condition of the boxes. The boxes are just plain flimsy and are poorly taped.

i just installed a furnace and needed some insulation.i used it for the round ducts and the rectangular ducts and I was impressed how durable it is to use.it holds up great when stretching it and taping the seams.the R factor is good also.use the U181 foil tape with it and you should have no problems..

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Hungrysquirrel Well made and easy to use
Nothing too special here...it's insulation, but it's well made and the foil back is reinforced. There's a generous overlap for joining seams, or for a-fixing it to larger ducting widths.
I think the packaging could be improved to simply outline the length of the roll rather than Sq Ft for us weekend warriors.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Diana Great product for wrapping ducts
I used it to wrap heat ducts. It held together well and was easy to tape with foil tape. My only problem was that my local store that was supposed to have it did not and I had to order it online.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by HelenW Good insulation product, but expensive
I wrapped the duct work in my basement with this insulation wrapping. Noticed difference right away in my rooms. There was barely any heat coming out of the farthest vent in my apartment, now I can feel the heat coming out of the vent. It is good for retaining heat in the ductwork, and preventing heat loss. But it is definitely very expensive. I already went through two+ rolls, and still have not completely wrapped all ductwork in my basement.
