Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by cbinny Great fan, good price, reliable, quiet - seems like a great choice.
I used this to replace a fan that ceased to function. It was very easy to get this fan to adapt to the old 30" fan's opening - even if the previous owner did not really install it well. As compare to all the other fans I could have purchased, it seems like the construction of this was comparable to the best of the rest yet at a lower price. Box was sealed when I received but there was one bolt / nut set missing as well as hi/lo speed switch shattered. No biggie - manufacturer customer service site responded quickly and replaced without hassle. Overall, I am pleased with it and happy I made this purchase.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Brent Good fan, some bad stuff
The fan is powerful, not very noisy, and certainly gets the job done. My complaints are, it arrived damaged (the louvers needed to be bent back into shape to fit flush) and the instructions provide no actual measurements.
We did a joist cut install and it took about 6 hours from start to finish for all the measuring, cutting, framing, and attic crawling around.
Recommended modifications include, put padding/weatherstripping on the frame to reduce vibration, drill two more hole in the louvers to have more screws holding it flush, and caulk everything in for a perfect seal.
This is a good value, but its always frustrating to pay $318 for something and have it show up with enough damage that you have to go fabricate it back to working order.

Excellent fan that is quiet, operates as expected. Installing as a replacement fan can be tricky but not difficult.

purchase 30 in fan - first problem - did not have hardware kit in packaging - Second - the pre drilled hole were not align correctly - were 3 inches off center - could not be mounted on beam - third the directions for tightening the belt were very terrible
it is sad that this is an American made product

The fan works great, but setup was very hard considering box had been opened, NO installation instructions, missing parts (fan switch). But after installation was complete, was all that I expected. Problem was with retailer, not product.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Madcustomer WORST PRODUCT I BOUGHT THIS YEAR
The dimensions of this product do not match any American standard.
Installation is very difficult and will require extensive fabrication.
The box i received had been previously opened and must have been a returned item.
Quality of louvers is flimsy

HD didn't have it out on the shelf, so I had to ask them to get it down with the forklift.
The box was unopened, and everything was in the box. Easy to install per the instructions. I did a joist out installation in my hallway. Turned out that the spot I needed to put it had a dummy joist anyway, so I just knocked that out. Any weekend warrior should be able to install with no problem. Be sure to cut the opening for the louvers, since they are smaller than the fan. get some extra 1x4 lumber to allow centering the fan in the opening.
Fan is quiet when running. Standing under it, it's slightly louder than standing next to a running dishwasher. Installed it in the hallway away from the common areas and between the bedrooms. Barely hear it in the common areas, and some low, white noise in the bed rooms.
Runs well, and keeps our 1500 SF home comfortable. We turn on the AC when the weather gets above about 85F outside. Even when it's warm, the house is comfortable because the air is moving. Should pay for itself this summer in utility bills alone.
