Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by RetiredMechEngr Good value, quiet operation
Replacement motor has been installed and running for 3 months with no problems. Motor is quiet and vibration free. I have to go outside and look for open loovers to know if fan is in operation. Original motor lasted 15 months.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Caruttop Replacement Fan Motor... more efficient than replacing entire fan assembly
Existing attic fan motor was 10 years old and I think quit in year 8... so, looking at my options, replacing this fan motor seemed the best combination of cost and time.
Home Depot sent the replacement motor on time via UPS as advertised.
Quite easy to replace motor with 2 people -- can be done with only 1 set of hands, but easier with 2.
Fan blade attaches with a set screw (no press needed), so very easy to remove from old motor shaft and put on new motor.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by FriendlyAl best motor i have bought in 40 years!
Fits in the same place with no problems. I have 4 power vents on this house and almost every year I have had to replace the cheaper smaller ones.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Barney great product replacement, but one instruction not mentioned
This motor is substantially "taller" than ordinary replacement motors. Although it fit nicely into my old vent housing. This pro series motor is very "beefy". If the quality is as good as it appears, this motor should last a lot longer than other OEM replacements. The motor comes with a "shim ring" that is required to be installed in most fan motor brackets. This caused me some delay in trying to figure out how to install the shim ring along with the motor. I finally used electrical tape strips to attach the shim ring into my old fan bracket. This holds the shim ring in place. Then it is relatively simple to slide the motor into the shim ring and hold it in place while tightening the bracket adjustment bolts. - This motor runs much more quiet than my old motor. Very pleased so far. I think it is well worth the extra cost for a pro series motor. PS: I should mention that I installed the motor from the roof, since I did not need to replace the thermostat..

Looked online for a fan, found three I wanted. When in "checkout" at Home Depot web site. All three said "Discontented no longer available" went to store and bought this fan. Took it home installed it in about 45 min. turned it on and the motor rubbed inside the housing making horrible noise. Uninstalled fan boxed back up and returned to Home Depot. Time wasted appx 1 1/2 hours..

You definitely want to get the 1/5th HP motor. The smaller ones burn out to quickly. Home Depot should sell these in the store rather than having to order it.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Joe501 Good heavy duty Replacement motor
I bought this motor to replace another cheaper replacement motor that failed that I bought in store at HD. This one is much heavier duty and expect since we only use it for 5 months a year it should last quite a while. Spend the extra money and buy this heavier motor.

Our attic fan motor burnt out after using for over 20 years. So it was a question of installing a new one from scratch or replacing just the motor. Removing the old motor in the attic was quite simple, so I thought installation of a new one should be no problem. I bought a replacement motor (1/5 HP Vs. 1/8 HP old one) and installed. It works just fine. Saved me a lot of work. The best part was that I did not have to go on the roof.
There is a second fan, and I will be getting a motor from Home Depot to replace it as well, even before it burns out.
