this motor has already stopped working. I will have to disassemble this thing and drag it back to the store to see if they will replace it.

bought this to replace the one i installed about a year ago. it doesn't fit the exhaust unit that is in the roof. the mounting bolts are only three whereas the unit needs four bolts. thought i could still use this by buying three new mounting bolts but unfortunately the holes in the motor housing are not drilled thru so i had to scrap that idea. this resulted in me having to buy a whole new rooftop fan and call the roofer to have it installed. i rate the quality as fair as the one i put in about a year ago had its bearings fail and it stopped running just when i needed it most. poor value. wouldn't recommend it.

Had to replace the attic fan motor that 'burned out'/stopped working. This unit was a simple swap out of the existing fan motor, for all intents and purposes, it was identical to the now deceased motor. New motor fit just fine, simple wire-up to the thermostat and we're off and running/cooling.
Only minor gripe is the cost, which I'm not sure HD will let me comment on here. A whole 1450 CFM unit cost $84, which includes fan, mount and adjustable thermostat. The motor alone cost $56, so I'm not sure it's worth simply replacing just the motor. Reason being is these motors and/or thermostat can konk out after only a few years, at least that's what I've experienced in the long summer seasons down here in GA over the past 13+ years. More temperate locations will possibly have better results. To have to replace the motor and thermostat separately is a whopping savings of approximately $2, not exactly worthwhile IMO.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by DoItYourselfProWanabee The fan motor was a perfect fit to replace the bad motor on the attic fan.
The motor is a replacement for attic fans. The new motor has a capacitor which should extend the life of the motor. Perfect match on size and use.

The fan was a easy replacement and looks beefier than the original. The only disappointment s it's warranty is shorter than a complete new fan unit. I hope it last a long time.
