What is the difference between the DP50 and the normal version of this door? Is it just the glass that is better quality or are other aspects of the door improved also? Thanks in advance.

Answer:
Thank you for your inquiry. The stationary door is secured to the frame and can not be removed. We offer hinged patio doors with the same rot proof construction that allow both doors to open.

Rated 4.2 out of 5 by 10 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Replaced leaking door with this one We had a patio door that was leaking and had rotted areas on the bottom. We replaced it with this door. Boy, was it an improvement! It looks great and there is much more glass in the doors to view out into our yard. While it was not expensive, it came with a nice looking door handle. Since it is on a 2nd floor, the installer had to dismantle the 2 doors from the frame and lift the frame up to our 2nd story deck. There was not enough room to bring it through the house. No problem, it went back together easily, and the installer was even impressed that it had stainless steel screws Last week we had a storm with over 2 inches of rain.....no leaks! May 3, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great look, great price! Sliding glass door was taken from store to my house, then up to camp the fallowing day. Installed by my son and I and he did all the rest of the work. Looks great and the door slides like a sled on snow. Smooth... Great look! Great quality! Very happy with this purchase! September 1, 2015

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Value Installed in my kitchen replacing single paned window and door. First time ever the kitchen has been without a draft. Love, love the low E glass and the lack of interior window frost. January 5, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Door! Our new Masterpiece door is beautiful and greatly improves the look of our home; both inside and out. When our contractor was installing it he turned to me and said, " nice door!" Later I overheard him say," this door opens and closes better than an Anderson!" We are very pleased! July 6, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Doesn't Lock!!! Installer didn't test the handle or locking mechanism before installation and we found out after the fact that the handle and locking mechanism simply didn't work. I went back to Home Depot and they called the manufacturer. They sent a new handle and locking mechanism which I installed myself. The handle and lock worked fine for about a month. Now it won't lock again. I tried adjusting the height of the door, tried reinsalling the handle and lock. No luck. The door appears solid and glides fine on the track. But the door is completely worthless if you can't lock it or the handle and lock are constantly breaking. I would not purchase this product again. It is not a good value for the price. March 6, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by I'm very pleased I am delighted with my new sliding patio door. No complains at all. My adult son who is experienced at such and his friend, installed the door. July 23, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Good looking handle but very poor quality of door frame I don't know why this is so highly rated. We just used this to replace an older door and I like the older door better. The construction of this door is CHEAP. The nailing fin on this door is just three L shaped extrusions that you have to glue into the side of the door. Then this gets nailed on your house. So imagine having silicone all over the edge of the opening then precariously gluing in these flimsy strips with silicone then try to pick up the door and slide it into place. The nailing fins come off getting glue everywhere while you try to get it into position. The frame is so cheaply made that one screw and easily distorts the frame out of plumb so you have to be very careful when hanging in. There is no nailing fin on the bottom of the door. No good way other than just a bead of caulk for the weatherproofing at the sill. The nailing fin is not structural at all and if you miss one area of caulk then it's not weather proof either. Also the corners are just 45% bevels with no welding of the vinyl. If I knew any of this I would have keep the old door in place. As it stands now I am considering just taking a loss and throwing this thing in the trash than to finish the installation and waste my time anymore. It slides nice and had a good looking handle but the construction is garbage IMO. October 11, 2015
