Does this install in pieces or as one unit

frame first stationary panel moving panel
Asked by: bob
The one I bought came as a unit, with the stationary door pre-installed, and the frame was complete. The sliding door, and screen door were separate though. The unit has handles on the side for positioning it, and it's a two-man job to move it up a flight of stairs, (like deck stairs)!

Is the stationary side removable?

No. The stationary unit is fixed in the frame.

Sliding glass doors with mini blinds inside

Are these available?
Asked by: gladhand
Yes, MasterPiece has them. You may have to special-order it through your HD depending on what they stock. Look for their special-order sale once or twice a year. That usually knocks 15_25% off.

Customer Reviews

72 in. x 80 in. Right-Hand Composite Gliding Patio Door with Woodgrain Interior is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 183.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Value, Good Quality. This door is an excellent price. It has good weight, is easily adjustable and feels like a much more expensive door. The door handle looks fantastic, too. One critique is that the locking mechanism rings a bit when closed giving it a cheaper sound. My GC put it in and aligned the lock and everything is operating exceptionally well. in a few spots, you can see flaws in the joints, but for the price, I don't think you can beat this door. Still waiting for winter to judge how well it keeps out the weather. one note: the color is not a true white. when placed up against white trim, this looks much more eggshell. just something to consider.

Sliding portion comes out, but not fixed portion. Easy to maneuver with slider ou and not too heavy for two people to move. D-shaped handles on both inside and out. Door has been installed about one month now. Cats go in and out about 12-20 times per day, so the slider is getting a workout. Very smooth movement. Double lock as well with secondary lock on top part of door so young children can't open the door.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Decent but.... Nice heavy duty door, some minor things were missing, like the screw for the dead bolt lock and I had a lot of clear caulk oozing from one of the sliding doors that I had to scrape off.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally....we have a working and great looking patio door We had an older, wooden patio door when we bought our home. After years of wear and tear, letting in drafts and small insects (Gross!), we found a great looking and affordable sliding patio door at Home Depot. It took my father in-law and I roughly four (4) hours to install but that included picking up the door, going back to Home Depot for supplies and putting up the trim and caulk. Overall, we are extremely satisfied with our purchase!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice! The door feels heavy/solid but glides nicely. Love having the 2nd lock up top that the little ones can't reach! I actually bought a 2nd one!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Get The Anderson Screen door for the Masterpeice!!! This is the best Patio Door available for the price, we had home Depot do the install and it is great. We love it, We followed the advice of everyone here and we got the Anderson Screen, best decision, the screen fits perfect and the handle is much better and seals all the way around so no bugs can get in. Thanks for the advice.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Broken spring inside door hardware within 1 year. I bought this door and had it installed by professional contractors in November 2013. I was quite happy with this door until the springs and mechanism inside the door hardware appear to have failed. Now it is impossible to lock the door with the key/handle mechanism. The latch mechanism is also a sealed unit from the factory so it is impossible to fix what would seem to have otherwise been a minor issue. This door has received minimal usage on our house and was properly installed by professional contractors. I am quite disappointed to be dealing with a hardware failure on such a relatively new door.
