Wondering the rpm of the motor, longevity concerns if it runs faster to get the higher cfm

3450 US motor modt63bvcyz-1573 cont. duty. 220 single ph. I even changed the motor pulley dia, from 3 .75to 2.75 to let the motor work less. changed the belt also to a notched one that has more flex.

Premium Industrial 80-Gal. 5 HP Single Stage Vertical Air Compressor is rated 3.6 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far so good! I haven't had this for very long, but from what I've seen so far this was a tremendous purchase. It pumped up from empty quickly and relatively quietly. This unit does exactly what it is supposed to do. I would definitely recommend this.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Purchased to run die grinders and a cabinet sand blaster I was looking for a good sized cabinet blaster and an air compressor to run it. I decided on a blaster that called for 15 cfm of air. I wanted to keep it around a grand for each. There are actually very few compressors in the class (around a thousand bucks and deliver enough air for the blaster). From there, air compressors jump up to 2 grand pretty quickly. Blasting ceramic shell of of bronze castings, I have to give it a break to catch up. It handles a die grinders at 90 psi without any drop in pressure. The deciding factor was the company promo financing. It is a good stepping stone from home to industrial for a one man shop.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Will not last more than 24 hours Bought this compressor in December 2013 on sale. It didn't last more than a month. So Home Depot came and picked it up. Reordered another one and it did not last more than 24 hours. I think the pump keeps failing. Won't build pressure higher the 100 psi. Pump pulley stops but electric motor keeps going. Might reorder a third one and see what happens.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from 1 max air joke 5 horse power motor over heats ? rated at 40c run,s at 58/ 65c, after 15 minut's of run time? Eat's belts ?.Their should be 2 at least ? WORTHLESS manufacture customer service dept, when called! HUGE DISSAPOINTMENT of this purchase! Should of bought local , IngersolRand, my mistake. I have a 42 year old Sears craftsman 2 hp, compressor that has not given me hardly any trouble but for a belt and motor start switch.I am not the only one with this problem.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Better than a craftsman I bought this compressor summer 2013 and use it for general automotive hand tools. Picked it up from the store and had it installed within a couple of hours. After reading other reviews I was prepared for leaks and bought spare fittings and pipe. Turned it on and before it got to 50 psi the outlet on the side started leaking. Not sure who installs the pieces on these compressors, but the pipe threads do not need 20 wraps of tape and there is such a thing as too tight. Replaced the stripped out pipe and then decided to check the rest of the fittings for too much tape and over tightening, fortunately everything else was good. Lastly I replaced the cheap drain valve as I could not get it to stop leaking. Other than that it has been a good compressor with no issues since day 1. I would recommend this compressor, just be prepared to fix what the assembly monkeys mess up.
