Is this fan corrosion resistant?

Asked by: JR
THIS FAN DOES SAY ITS OUTDOOR RATED .. RIGHT ON THE FAN. INTERESTING THAT ANYONE WOULD SAY ITS NOT. I CAN TAKE A PIC AND POST IT TO MY REVIEW TO PROVE THAT AS WELL !! SEEMS LIKE THE DESCRIPTION OF THIS FAN CHANGED SINCE I BOUGHT IT. BC I BOUGHT THEM BC THEY WERE OUTDOOR RATED. THE MOTOR HOUSING IS ENCLOSED, IT IS DESIGNED AS IF ITS AN OUTDOOR FAN TO PREVENT MOISTURE FROM GETTING INTO THE HOUSING OR ELECTRICAL AREA.

how do you mount this? Is there a bracket on the market you recommend

Asked by: Sean
This fan has a tilting bracket. It is mounted by a single 3/8" bolt. Both of mine are mounted in brick using a 3/8 cement wedge bolt. Recommended by manufacturer is to use a 3/8" lag bolt in wood a minimum 2 inches anchor depth in the wood which means you will need to add sheet rock depth to the length of the bolt.

Can you mount this to the wal instead of the ceiling

I see this can be mounted to the ceiling but can it be supported and mounted to a wall?
Asked by: Meagan
Yes, I have both of mine mounted on a wall at a height of 7 feet tilted downward at a 45* angle. Note that the Center 3/8" hole is the primary anchor. I have mine set with a single 3/8" cement wedge bolt. The 2 outer holes are secondary locking bolts. If setting in wood, it will require a 3/8" lag bolt minimum 2 inches in the wall.

Installed them in the brick wall around my patio at 90* angle from each other aimed directly at the patio table from 2 sides replacing a 24" pedestal fan which was higher cost than both of these combined. Both of the MaxxAir Fans move a significant amount of air although not cam rated but a best guess would be 3500 to 4000 cfm each on high speed & in a Louisiana humid summer is just what the doctor ordered. Love the tilt feature as it means I was able to direct the fan output precisely when installed high beneath the patio eaves completely out of the way. Do wish it had the ability to also change the radius angle if needed. The fan provides a directed air movement which is not wide so it is best to install on a direct line pointed from the center of the fan for best cooling results. My best guesstimate is a 10 foot direct range on high with a 5 foot width. Other reviews are incorrect as this fan is single middle 3/8" bolt supported with 2 locking hole which are 5/16" or can be used as secondary support. Best installation with more uses is from a ceiling where you can set both the angle & turn to direct the air flow exactly before using 1 or both of the edge bolt holes to lock in the fan.
