Rated 4.1 out of 5 by 22 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Powerful cooling MaxxAir 30" pedestal fan is a cooling machine. Easy to assemble, few parts to easily put together. All metal construction. 3 Speed fan to fit any need. Adjustable height from 5-7 foot. The fan itself tilts up to 90 degrees. Aluminum fan blade. 4,800 CFM for powerful cooling. Easy instructions included with pictures and a great UTube video to follow easy step by step assembly instructions. The fan would work great in any garage or shop for your cooling needs. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Solid fan with great air circulation The quality of the fan is very good. I like that it allows you to adjust the height of the fan as well as the angle of the blades. Assembly instructions require you to read and follow them precisely. (not the most user friendly). There is a option to view a video to assist with the assembly which is pretty helpful. Follow the instructions after reading them from start to finish once before you start assembly. It will make it much easier. The base is sufficient enough that I am NOT concerned about it tipping over, however it is not so bulky or heavy that moving it will be difficult. I am very pleased with the fans volume level in comparison to the amount of air it circulates. Great purchase. February 22, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Not blown away Overall this fan will get the job done and look pretty good doing it. Starting off, the fan was packaged poorly so the fan guard was bent and deformed right off the bat. The assembly instructions are very bad as well however the fan is easy to assemble. The manual did mention an assembly video was available online but to be fair, I did not watch it. Starting at the base, the support pole is fastened to the base using 5 low grade fasteners without any nuts. They thread directly into the heavy gauge sheetmetal of the base. I would not expect this van to survive and accidental drop or tumble on this connection alone. The next issue was the screws fastening the back fan guard into the motor housing. The fan guard did not perfectly align with the motor and I ended up cross-threading one of the screws. Partially my fault. I then stripped the phillips head of the screw. Personally I feel the material is extremely low grade and too easy to strip. Same goes for all the hardware except for the bolt which holds the motor to the supporting pole. The instructions fail to mention that the very small provided bolt and nut are meant to attach the two fan guard halves together. Was not hard to figure out, but still, it appears the company is not very thorough. Once assembled, the fan does look very good. The fan blows hard as well. It is quite loud but I would expect that. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Large Powerful Fan This is a heavy duty powerful fan and it appears to be well-made. I did have some challenges putting the fan together. The paper instructions aren’t very detailed and have limited pictures but they do have an installation video on YouTube. On the Home Depot website it says “Easy assembly in less than 10 minutes”. I think to do it in 10 minutes you’d have to assemble a few first to get practice. The motor was really hard to attach because it is heavy and the part the bolt, nut and 3 washers goes on was expanded out so it was hard to get the nut on the bolt. If you had someone to help you it would be easier. I had to lay it on the ground and clamp it to get the bolt attached, see picture. Also to get the front grill on correctly was challenging. The video tells you to clip it all around and then put the safety bolt through at the bottom. If you did it this way you would never get the bolt through the tight hole. Put the bolt in loosely after you hang the front grill on the rear grill and before you fastener all the clips. If you look at the video really carefully you can see that they cheat. When they show the holes in the grills after they have fastened the clips you can see they don’t line up but then a second later (after a quick video edit) when they to go put the bolt in you will see they line up perfectly. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Lots of Cooling Power It took me over an hour to put this fan together. I think the directions were just fine except they called a screw a bolt and sometimes told you to remove screws that came inside a plastic bag, etc etc. I attached the pole to the base using a 10 millimeter open ended wrench. All the screws handled a phillips screwdriver. For the motor I used 2 adjustable wrenches. Portions of the grills were bent including the side tabs that connect them together. I used a flat head screwdriver to pry the tabs apart. When attaching the blade to the motor, they provide the proper allen wrench to tighten up the set screw. There was some powder coated substance that had dried onto the grill that they didn't remove but once put together you can't see it but it did interfere with the grills alignment. The Manufacturer says it has a 9' electrical cord but mine was only 6'. The base of the fan is very sturdy. It comes with a pull chain for 3 speeds. In the high speed it is sort of noisy but the air is powerful. Medium speed is more quieter with a good amount of air blowing from it. In low speed, it is very quiet and the amount of air is like one of your house fans being in high speed. A 20" box fan that you'd put in your window puts out around 3,000 CFM's. This fan puts out 4,800 CFM's. Another good thing about this fan is you only have to put it together "once". After assembled it weighs 57 lbs so I'd like to find a way to add some wheels to the base for easy movement around the garage. I plan to use it in my garage to blow out the hot summer air and any chemicals I may be using on a project. The fan comes with a 2 year warranty. February 28, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Blown away!!! This fan moves a lot of air. I needed it for my non-air conditioned garage/shop here in AZ. When it is 115 outside it is 115 inside so the large air volume helps a lot. Assembly is easy with minimal tools. On the 1st step, assembling the pole to the base do not over tighten the bolts, the base is not real thick. I used a socket with a screwdriver type handle and stripped one bolt. If that happens just dig into your nut collection and add a washer & nut underneath. No one will know the difference. I like that while big it is fairly easy to move around. The fan direction is also adjustable up & down and 3 speeds. February 21, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Not quite industrial strength The box is heavy have a friend help you with moving and assembly. In essence this is like having the blowing power of several box fans, and isn't really up to par with any industrial strength fan but it does put out a good strong air flow with moderate noise. Fans circulating hot ambient air, are not going to have a cooling effect, a air conditioner or swamp cooler will cool air, fans don't March 26, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Shop Fan This fan is perfect for the workshop. It is so hot and humid in the summer and I was looking for something that will move the air and help keep things comfortable. March 6, 2015
