My daughter and her husband are expecting their first child. They wanted a freezer so they could prepare their meals in advance and have them ready to thaw quickly and eat when the baby arrived. This freezer fits the bill. It's the perfect size for the space and priced better than any other freezer of that size. Ultra-quiet too.

I love this freezer. Keeps stuff frozen and has two large baskets that help keep stuff organized and more readily available. Not sure how long they will last being plastic in freezing temps but they have lasted for a month now and I have removed them from the freezer loaded with 20lbs of meet several times to access stuff underneath. My teachers would cringe at that run on sentence! This replaces a 20+ year old Montgomery Ward freezer of the same size. Hopefully I will see the cost savings of a new energy efficient freezer. I really trust Maytag quality, hopefully now that whirlpool owns them they don't go down hill. I bought a Maytag fridge 20 years ago and it is still going strong. Bought Maytag washer and gas dryer 9 years ago, and doing great also. Also bought Maytag dishwasher about 2 years ago. Yup! I like Maytag! Just need to get a range soon... Oh ya, it has a drain plug in bottom for when you defrost, very nice!

My old freezer conked out. It was an upright. that looked similar to a refrigerator, so it had quite a bit of room. I went in to home depot planning to buy a new one, of the same style. At the time, they had a 20% off appliance sale going on, but that only applied to certain items. And unfortunately, it only applied to a large freezer (this one) on clearance. I hemmed and hawed and finally decided "Oh, what the heck" and when I got to checkout and it was only $306, I was pretty happy with it. Also, the check out lady gave me a free 2 year product replacement plan on it, in case anything went wrong. I've had it at home for awhile, and the ice buildup isn't as bad as I was expecting. I suppose every 6 months it'll need a defrost, but that's much better than my old upright which was absolutely caked in ice after about 3 months. Also, since it's a chest freezer, all the cold air doesn't "fall" out when you open it, it stays in and so it's more energy efficient that way also. The yearly estimated cost for electricity is $38, which beats the $60 or so I used on the old one. And, being nearly 15 cubic feet, it's super roomy. I still haven't filled it more than 25% full or so, but I guess in worst case, next summer if it's super hot, I can crawl inside for 15 minutes and cool right off! So yeah, this was a good buy.

Perfect for what we need it for. The delivery team removed the old chest freezer from our basement and replaced it with the new one. The only feature it's missing is a light inside but we have a light directly above so it was not necessary.

We've had this freezer for 6 months 1 week and have had 0 problems with it. It does an excellent job staying cold, defrosting was very easy and the sliding baskets are very nice to have.
It would be nice if extra baskets weren't so expensive to help with organization.
But I got around the typical chest freezer organizational issues by using fabric "drawers" made for cube-style closet organizer systems. 6 12"x12" fabric drawers fit perfectly in the bottom of the freezer. And I was able to buy 10 of these "drawers" for less than the price of 1 sliding basket.
We liked this freezer so much, we bought a GE 5 cu. ft. chest freezer a month ago to hold the overflow that won't fit into this one.

Nice freezer. Stays cold. Baskets are handy. Lower shelf helps to organize contents. Works great. It is missing 2 things that I had on my previous chest freezer - -1) there is not light inside which is very helpful when open. 2) there is no indicator light on the exterior to tell you that the power is on - I really miss that feature because when that light is not on you can immediately know that your freezer is not functioning.
