I was the unfortunate owner of three of these refrigerators. Home Depot replaced each one of them and finally we decided I should choose another brand. The freezer in the first fridge failed twice in one month. The second fridge had a bad freezer gasket requiring three visits from the repairman. On the third visit, he called Whirlpool (Maytag's owner) to say he couldn't fix the problem whereupon he was told the freezer door had a known defect and a new door should be ordered, which could take up to six weeks. The freezer on the third fridge failed after two and a half days. Kudos to Home Depot for standing behind what they sell; unfortunately Whirlpool is selling junk.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Customer Loud and cheap
I am very, very disappointed. I needed a smaller refrigerator that could make it up a narrow staircase--and that part was fine. But the refrigerator cycles on way too frequently--and makes a humming noise that we can hear downstairs and all the way across the home. When it turns off, the house becomes discernibly quieter and calmer. Maytag sent out a mechanic who said that it was working as designed.
The bins on the door are also very cheap--and one of the bins completely broke apart within our first week of usage. Maytag did send us a new bin, but I don't know how long that'll last.
I would not recommend this refrigerator.

After years of always buying the lowest priced refrigerator, I decided to go Maytag. This is not their cheapest or their best. When first plugged in , I couldn't believe how loud this unit is. There were times I thought the microwave was running when the fridge started up.
The biggest complaint is with the refrigerator door. Something on the bottom of the door rubs the hinge when it closes (if it closes). Frequently come back to find the fridge door open a crack because it doesn't close properly
Extremely poor customer service. Why buy an extended warranty when you can't get them to fix with the initial warranty? After a few months it has gotten progressively worse so I called Maytag. I told the lady repeatedly that something was rubbing on the hinge as it closes as she kept telling me it was a maintenance issue, that I had to re-level the fridge. My level says it's almost perfectly level, but she says to try and tilt it backwards so door will close better. I reply I'm 60 years old and can't tilt the unit but she insists that they will not pay for the call because this is not a warranty issue. What a joke. Buy the better name brand and have troubles from the start. NEVER BUY MAYTAG AGAIN.....

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by CountryBoy Good 2nd refrigerator
This refrigerator makes a great 2nd refrigerator. It is a bit on the noisy side and may be slightly annoying to some people if in the kitchen. There is only 1 temperature adjustment and it must be set half way between the normal and coldest setting (i.e. 1:30 PM position) to get 39-40 in the fridge & 4 degrees in the freezer; which is what I like. I purchased an AcuRite wireless digital thermometer so that the temp can be monitored from our kitchen. Shelves are nice & the size is great for a 2nd refrigerator. It appears to be a quality product but I will followup after having owned for a year or so. The biggest con is the single adjustment. The biggest pros are energy efficiency, style, price, and storage compartments. Has a nice icemaker which I probably will not use.

Don't know energy efficiency yet. It runs all the time. (Yes, I know I need to fill it but it's way bigger than I needed and what can I do now that it's delivered...) It's kind of noisy when it runs (all the time). I hit my head many times on the freezer when looking in the frig. I don't really like the "door handle". Can't reach the top no way no how. Lesson learned; don't buy a frig on-line. (7inches taller than me didn't seem so tall on paper.) One good feature is the "insert" in the vege drawer; makes it easier to clean.
Also it will not allow leveling on my unlevel floor, therefore looks dumb leaning away from my cabinets.
One more thing, I cannot get the temp right - if it's too cold in the frig and I turn down the temp, the freezer won't freeze. Only one control for both freezer and frig.

Bought the fridge to put in a small space near a door. Love it becase of the low depth and profile but its nice and big on the inside. Shelves are a little flimsy but not too bad. The ice maker seals the deal!

Our side by side refrigerator died, we have limited space all of the new side by side refrigerators are to wide. This refrigerator holds a lot of food, I love the ice maker. It makes good quality ice. I will always miss my side by sides water dispenser but, because of space and cost I had to down size. This fig keeps everything cold. Also it makes less noise than my old refrigerator. I also like that the doors can be reversed.

Just got mine and it is very quiet and has plenty of room inside for everything. Started putting out ice very quick. I replaced a 3 year old fridge that was too big for the space which was much more expensive than this one. I find that the quality is the same between the two. Very happy so far.
