I just had a service tech at my house. He told me to never wash any bedding other than sheets. If your washing sheets he suggested putting a couple towels in with them so they will tumble in the drum correctly. It's the tumbling against each other that actually washes your items. He says you should always take your comforter, quilts and blankets to the laundromat.
He also stated that you should never wash bra's with underwires in there either. The wire can come out and slip right through the holes in the drum. The wire can make it all the way to the pump and get caught up in the pump. If that happens, well... get ready to pay for an expensive service visit.
Last thing he told me was that you should always wash socks in a mesh laundry bag. Especially tiny socks. They can slip past the gasket next to the door and go right into the pump. Again, expensive repair call.
These are the rules for all front load washers.

Answer:
I have tried washing a full sized comforter. It fit in the washer fine but when the cycle was over the inside of the comforter was still almost dry ( and still dirty ) This washer uses a small amount of water and you CAN NOT select load size to increase water level. This washer weighs your clothes and determines the water level on its own.

karen,
The venting for the dryer (Model: MED7500YW) that goes with this washer is on the rear or the back. In order to provide adequate space for the venting you would need an additional 4-5" for a traditional vent or there are other vents available which can reduce the space needed down to 3-4". Thank you for viewing this Maytag home appliance.

Bobbie,
The Home Depot does provide simple install on home appliances. The delivery team that brings your washer and dryer would be able to hook up the washer and dryer to existing outlets. They will also provide haul away of your old washer and dryer if it is needed. Thank you for viewing this Maytag Front Load Washer.

Rated 3.3 out of 5 by 169 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Washer failed after less than 3 years of use - total garbage This unit failed after less than 3 years of light use. Multiple error messages and never really spun out the water well at all. Now it runs a bit then leaves the tub full of water. Repairman came out and told us these are junk and that the board that is faulty is no longer available. Total junk so I have wasted about $800 dollars. Maytag knew this was garbage which is why it was discontinued. I will never buy another washer from Maytag again and expect them to do something about this nonsense. I wish I could rate 0 stars. June 29, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Failed twice in two years Failed nearly a year after use, I was lucky it was only a few days to warranty end. 11 month later after repair, it failed again. Seem to design to fail right after your warranty ends. Very disappointed! June 27, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Problem with a 2013 unit I have this unit from 2013, it was at the condo that I purchased. It's only 3 years old, however the main board just went. We had a service man come up, he told us that this part is not being produced anymore. We also had similar problems with this unit when it was 1 yr since the purchase as described by others, i.e flashing lights, not wanting to start, door would not lock/drain. All this according to the repairman is because of the main board. Prior to this I had Whirlpool for 10 years that never skipped a beat, and probably still going at my old place. I have a Maytag dryer, but thinking will just exchange the whole thing, and go with a different company, as this seems very problematic. June 20, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Buyer beware Had this unit from Home Depot for under a year. It took three deliveries twice the units were very badly damaged in transit. The unit started out ok, then about once every few weeks it would get an A-10 error and would need to have the power reset to get it going again. Now it does it almost every load, had to have a repair service the last time since we could not get the unit to drain. The service took several hours and ended up draining the unit by using pans to catch the water from the pump cover. Water was slow to come out and then it blew out like the flood gates were opened, this surprised the repair person. Long story short still getting the A-10 errors and the 1 year warrant is about up, I would rather spend the money that I would pay for an extended warranty for a different manufacturer, hopefully a better quality unit. November 21, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Big Punch in a Little Package This washer has so many choices. It is compact, and does not have the capacity of my old one-piece stackable unit, but it is so much more efficient. And much more quiet. I have not had any problem loading up sheets and pillow cases from a queen size bed. It used less water, and took less time to wash. If you are trying to wash more than one bed's worth of linens, you may not be able to fit it all in, but for my uses, this is perfect. July 13, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Only two years, failed twice Bought the washer for about two years, failed a year ago, repaired and now failed again! Very poor reliability of such an expensive equipment. June 27, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Very Disappointed! I bought two sets of this washer/dryer set 18 months ago. One for my home and one for a rental condo. The "clean washer" cycle never worked. The washer would also hesitate to start with the light blinking and nothing happening with the door remaining locked. As another reviewer said I would leave it sit and come back later! My washer was picked up for repairs and I was told it needs a new computer board/panel. Two months later now I find out the company does not have the parts for this model and it is discontinued! Thank god I had purchased extended warranty as the washer will be replaced at no cost to me. If I hadn't I would be buying a new washer paying 100% of the costs and it never worked when it left the factory. Very disappointed as now my only other option is an Electrolux because of the size of my space. Yes, this machine is a lemon!!!!! June 9, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Worst washer ever made My landlord bought this compact washer a year ago. In the beginning, it worked fine. Then after a few washes, it started acting up. In the beginning of a wash, the door locked light is solid red, the green start light is on and 30 minutes on the screen. Then, it stalls for a minute. Then, the door locked light starts blinking. After a few times of this, I just give up and try again in a day or two. When it finally cooperates, it's like winning the lottery. I don't recommend this washer at all. May 31, 2016
