What is the "$99 Required Part M922 OTR INSTALL"? This same model (for $21 more) at another store's site doesn't mention it. Has something required been removed from the standard package for the Home Depot version?

Not positive but I think they charge $99 to install the microwave for you (on sale now for $49). That's what is being referred to.

There was nothing missing. I think that was a cost to have someone else install it. I had everything needed to install the unit as it was delivered. I declined this item.

As others have mentioned, this item is apparently an installation fee. I installed the oven myself without it and had no problems.

99$ is the amount the charged me for them to install the microwave over the range (OTR). If you can do it yourself there is no need to purchase this.

I have no idea. I purchased it assuming I needed it and what I got was for them to install it but there was no $99 part. All the parts they used came from the box the microwave was in. This is very confusing!!!!!!!!!!

rick48oregon,
The Maytag Over the Range Microwave you are referring to has a venting system that is the same as if it were a stand alone range hood. The advantage is that it is also a microwave. You should receive the same performance either way.

It can be vented either way. We already had an attic vent established from old vent hood, so our electrician simply utilized it. The micro can also be vented out the front

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by OTR Microwave Review We purchased this microwave to replace a defective one and are very pleased with our choice. It is a very functional device. Would recommend to friends. February 5, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Sharp looking appliance, great features We got the MMV5208WS in black to match other appliances. Very satisfied. We love the glide tray for even heating. Heats quickly and evenly. The only down side is that it seems to draw a lot of power when running. It turns out the outlet we used to plug it into is on the same circuit as most of the lights in the kitchen/dining room, and when it is running the lights dim. We even blew a circuit one time when all of the lights were on and started the microwave. I'm sure it will be fine if we move it to it's own circuit. Just something to be aware of. January 16, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fantastic microwave The "turntable" is fantastic - consistent heating with no hot spots and can put a casserole in! Have only had it for a month but have had no issues. Also, worth every penny to have HD install it - in & out quickly and didn't have to deal with disposing my old one. June 14, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by "Wonderful addition to my Kitchen! Had my eye on this one for a while. had an opportunity to shop for a new dishwasher and they said that the Microwave that I had been visiting whenever my husband and I went in to window shop was the last one in stock.... nuff said, had to have it..... one and done! very happy with the new tray that glides instead of turns.... and love the easy care of cleaning. I only have two appliances left in my kitchen that are not Maytag. Someday I will have all of them Maytags! May 28, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Praise the Maytag Microwave! I really did not need a new microwave, but when I had to replace my range I saw this Maytag Microwave, with so many features and I partially noticed the tray moving back and forth. I now enjoy both my range and microwave. I always thought that Maytag made only washers, when I bought my first one I was told it would last many years and will not need maintenance on it because they are so well made, that was true, I was always satisfied with a Maytag washer, I do not have one now but when I was raising my family I always had a Magtag. What a treat it would be if I could win a Maytag dishwasher!! September 5, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Superior Microhood! I specifically was looking for another microhood that had the wide glide tray instead of the turntable. I hate turntables because they can not accomodate square or rectangular dishes or entrees. My last microhood, which was a Kenmore had the wide glide tray too. But not too many of the brands come with this feature. But the interior of this microwave in stainless is sharp and easy to clean. The microwave features are everything a person would need. It's sleek design with smooth hidden vent is awesome and much easier to clean than the older styled ones. I would not hesitate to purchase this one. I would think anyone would be happy with it. September 13, 2011
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great features and quiet! We replaced a Frigidaire that died after only 3 1/2 years and couldn't be happier. The Maytag is SO much quieter!! It also has great features. I really like the square tray that doesn't rotate. It's very easy to use and the light over the stove is nice and bright. April 16, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Unaware of serious problem! I bought this about two months ago and have discovered a serious design flaw. The burners on my stove are two small in the back a medium on the front left and a large burner on the front right. Every time I boil water , homemade soups or stwes the fan doesn't capture the steam and it hits the bottom of the microwave. Condensation accumulates and drips back into the food. Yuck! It also gets in between the door seal. And a friend of mine said after a few months of boiling pasta water the control panel shorted out and rendered the microwave useless!!!!!!! August 3, 2014
