Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Seghilo Great stainless steel look! Happy with purchase
I purchased this microwave 3 weeks ago and it works great. Easy to use features and great look. It really enhances the look in the kitchen. However, the cavity lights burned out just 2 days after it was installed. I called Maytag customer service and was sent a free bulb. The manual does NOT do a good job of describing how to install this bulb and I spent hours trying to figure this out myself. Overall, great buy. I would recommend.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by KathyC Attractive and great value
I can't really speak to how this microwave functions as far as serious cooking, since I almost never use microwaves for cooking or heating food. I just boil water in mine for tea and occasionally make popcorn or reheat leftovers, for which I have found it to be perfectly adequate. It seems to have the usual features of a microwave (a light, vent, cook, defrost, frozen entree, and an "add 30 seconds" button), as well as some extras (popcorn, veggie, baked potato, snacks - for things like nachos and precooked chicken nuggets - and kids menu - for things like canned pasta and frozen pizza). With all of my previous microwaves, one had to enter the weight of their food when using these features, so I'm a bit surprised that other reviewers are troubled by this. As for the popcorn button, microwave popcorn packages usually come in standard weights (about 3 oz.), and in any case the weight is usually clearly marked on the bag, so, again, I'm not sure how this would be a problem for anyone. You can also just use the cook function by entering the cooking time required and pressing "start" (for instance, the water for my tea requires 2 minutes to boil). This appliance is no more nor less complicated to use than any other microwave in that regard. Microwaves come with different power settings (some are stronger than others), so I would suggest that a shopper research how much power they need for their purposes before purchasing. Like I said, we don't use it often for cooking, so this one has plenty of power for our needs. We bought an over-the-range microwave only because our space was too small for the decorative hood we had wanted instead. We basically settled for this, and it has worked out well. It hasn't broken and is an excellent value, given its price. It looks much more expensive than it actually was. We mainly use it as a light over our stove and as a vent while we're cooking on the range. The vent works perfectly well and has stopped our very sensitive fire alarms from going off constantly. Aesthetically, this microwave is very attractive. It doesn't project too far from our wall cabinets, which are standard-depth (I've included a photo of this), and the stainless steel doesn't smudge constantly from fingerprints. The finish cleans very easily with stainless steel cleaner. The shelf inside the microwave is very useful on the infrequent occasions when we do use it for cooking, and I like that there is a button which turns the turntable on and off. My only complaints are that the numbers in the display are an ugly and unfashionable orange color (this is true also of our Maytag refrigerator and range; the manufacturer may want to consider changing it to blue in future appliances), and that the interior is white (I have included a photo). The other microwaves we considered had silver interiors, which are much more attractive, but given the price-point of this appliance I can't really complain much about that. It's a minor quibble. All in all, it serves our purposes and looks great. All of our appliances are Maytag, and I love them. When they eventually need replacing, I'll buy Maytag again.

We bought this Maytag as a replacement for an aging sharp carousel model that was still functioning. The new Maytag seems so be well built and attractive, however, lacks the features we now miss in our old Sharp. It appears that everything needs a weight value in order to get started. The 1 minute button is now a 30 second button but lacks the power to accomplish most tasks in this short time. Popcorn is now a pain because of the weight and no the individual bags don't have the weight printed on them. All in all it's a nice looking appliance that lacks the features of older and cheaper appliances. All show no go.

I'm overall satisfied with the microwave, it fits in my tiny home (the installers took a look at my place and wanted to measure it to make sure it would fit, and it did, no problems). About the only improvement I'd like is a finder dot on the light feature, sometimes I like to just use that instead of my kitchen light at night, and if I could find it easier on the interface, it'd be great. But that's not a huge deal.

For Maytag brand, I expected this microwave to last forever. 1 week after installation, the main computer panel had to be replaced on it due to a constant error message. I would think next time regarding a Maytag purchase

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Kalee I've read reviews where people are complaining about Maytag, but I have had no problems with any of their appliances. I bought this along with 3 other Maytag kitchen appliances and have no regrets. I love all of them. This microwave is bigger in lenght than my last. I had to cut some tiles on the wall for it to sit evenly. It works great. This unit has a rectangular shaped insert (instead of the round turntable type) that moves side to side and up and down for "even" cooking. It's awesome! The venting and lighting work well, too. And I bought it with a great sale price! HD has the best delivery service around, too. I was notified three different times of their delivery timeline, once the evening before with a 4 hour window and twice the day of delivery. They actually showed up early, which was great!

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Angry Keypad broke after 3 years. Don't buy Maytag!!
I've only had this microwave three years and unfortunatelly did not read the reviews before I bought appliances. The microwave will not let you push any buttons and is giving an SE error code which I looked online to find that it is the keypad. Called the company to get a price and it is $180 plus shipping, but it is on nation wide back order which means this must be happening alot. Will never buy Maytag again.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by OCHzwife Don't get this one..just 3 years then it broke!!
I bought this one 3 years ago when I bought my new place and now it doesn't work anymore. The control panel displays an error "5E" (fault code). I asked around how much it will cost me to fix and one guy said around $300..def. not worth it. So now I'm going to buy either just the fan only or OTCMbut def. not this one.
