You should be able to get under the edge and slowly pull the tag off. There are several solvents available to remove the glue that might be left behind. Don't scrape the surface of the microwave with a metal scraper; try your fingernail or a rigid plastic scraper. Use the solvent with a soft cloth. It may take some time to soften the glue and remove it completely. If you have WD40, give it a try: it is very good at removing many glues. If you have made visible scratches in the metal, a 400grit wet/dry sandpaper will be pretty good to hide the scratches and restore the original brushed type finish (assuming your microwave has a brushed finish to the stainless steel). Answer:
I believe the vent is for removing cooking heat, steam, and odors from the range. I don't see the vent working when I reheat or cook stuff in the microwave.
That being the case you have, why not just get a counter top model and build a shelf for it?

Answer:
No, this microwave oven doesn't need to be vented outside although, it does have that option. The unit comes all set up to vent internally so, you can install the microwave just as it is and be up and running. The installation instructions are good and you should have no problems.

No. It is already set up for recirculation. You don't have to change it. However, it can also be vented horizontally or vertically.

We have just purchased this microwave. We have an eletric stove and I see conflicting answers to this question. Does this microwave need to be vented to the outside? The previous owners of our house do not have a vent cut out or installed for a microwave which made us think we didn't. But on the instructions it shows vented. I know In the past with a gas stove it would be the right thing to do, but now with electric - I just don't know? Any help or advice? How much does the unit weigh because the bracket that came with it feels flimsy I wanted to order something else stronger and with an easier install. Thanks in advance-Nikki :)

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best Microwave I have ever had! Lots of features and I love the design of it. Heats food automatically and the settings are very easy to use and learn. August 21, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Big for features Features and cooking wattage don't match size. Expected 1200 watts due to size, only has 1000 watts. Nice looking and high quality. Easy to install! Would like two lights instead of one (burned out after 1 week and left my cooking surface dark!). August 16, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Microwave This is a great Microwave and looks good too! Had it installed at the same time as our range. August 17, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Maytag Microwave and HD customer service. Installation was excellent. Home Depot customer service was flawless! The Microwave works fabulous! Very happy with the entire on-line purchase experience! July 12, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent microwave! It took me a while to settle on which brand microwave to purchase. After reading several reviews I decided on this Maytag. Best decision ever! We have an open floor plan and I was worried about the noise but no worries with this one! It's so quiet you hardly hear it running and the end tone is very nice and quiet also. If you're looking for a quiet microwave that cooks and reheats very quickly and looks great, then this it the one for you. June 24, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Maytag Microwave The unit installs very easily and has a nice stainless finish. The unit itself is a little underpowered and takes a bit longer to do the job than our previous unit June 25, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Contemporary! Doesn't make noise, the door/handle very smooth (you don't have to bang it to close). It has melting option, I like my ice cream melted so that's a plus. July 5, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Poor quality door system microwave stopped working after 14 months We bought this Maytag microwave from Home Depot because it has 400 cfm hood suction and says 10 years limited parts warranty stamped right on the front. It's a Maytag, an American brand and is supposed to be good quality. At 14 months after purchase, we get an "open close door" error message on the control panel that won't allow the microwave to work anymore. A little research finds this is a common problem with these microwaves. Home Depot has washed themselves of responsibility for selling these microwaves and advise the customer to deal with Maytag as it's been 2 months past the 1 year warranty that the microwave went bad. Very disappointed, will never buy a Maytag appliance again from Home Depot or anyone else. It's suggested you do not buy a Maytag microwave, to look to other brands. BTW, the hood suction is only slightly better than our old 200 cfm microwave, but not worth buying just based on the suction, as a $350 microwave should last several years, up to a decade or longer. I've had cheaper microwaves work reliably for much longer than this one. July 8, 2016
