Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Qtmstr Microwave for the new kitchen
The installation instructions were easy to read and installation was easy. We had the microwave ready to operate within 30 minutes of unpacking. The operating instructions were simple and the enclosed laminated guide made it a joy to use.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by anne22 Really big, not as powerful, and installation issues
I ordered this microwave to replace an older model microwave of the same type. (only because the handle broke and I would have paid $140 to replace the entire door so I bought a new one instead). I chose this model because it has a rectangular tray that goes back and forth vs. a round tray that spins. What I found first is that it is several inches bigger then the one I had, and so it was quite a project to finally get it installed. The first thing I did was try popcorn in my Orville Redenbacher microwave popper. It takes almost 1.5 minutes more in this microwave then my old one which tells me it's simply not as powerful. I like the stainless inside, and the sensor feature. Several folks have commented on the vent fan being loud, and this is very true. It is very loud on all settings. So far I am happy with it but we've not had it very long. It does the basics and it matches the rest of my Maytag appliances.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by DFlo Nice looking Maytag microwave and beautiful design inside and out.
Had it for 2 months so far. Great looking and installed easily with existing hardware from last unit. Like the stainless steel interior.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by MicrowaveTroubles had to return twice
We purchased this product and had it installed. It worked for 30 seconds when the installers were here. When they left, I went to use it and it worked for 3 seconds, made an awful clicking sound and then powered off. We had it replaced with the same model. This time, it worked for about 3 heatings. Then, I put a bag of popcorn in and it heated for 30 seconds and then no more heating. It still sounded like it was on, but nothing was happening inside. We returned and will get a different brand. It was not a power issue with our electric outlet as was suggested to us by the people that came to remove and return the microwave.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Mike Good buy, good performance, alll features that one needs
We had to replace a GE over the range that we had for 14 or so years. This one fit the space (most of these over the range microwaves have the same width and height). It is larger than our previous one; it is deeper by 2 or 3 inches. It cooks fine, and the controls are typical. The price was right making it a good buy. The stainless interior makes cleaning easier that the plastic or painted metal interior of our last unit. My only complaint has to do with the intuitiveness of the buttons. I have rarely had that sense on any but my last microwave. The penalty is a minimum of two or three button presses for simple tasks, but I'm willing to live with that.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by CD12 Maytag won't fix it...
Purchased a microwave (model MMV5208WS) along with matching double stove and fridge. Stove and fridge are working fine. The microwave has been serviced three times for the same problem and still isn't fixed. Now getting the run around from Maytag while trying to schedule yet another service appointment.
Honestly - the fridge and stove work great, but the microwave is a lemon and they won't admit it and replace it. Not sure how fixing a $300 microwave over and over again is good business sense but I am going to keep calling it in for another service call until they actually fix the problem. Might be the first $300 microwave with $2000 worth of service calls, but hey - I can work from home without a problem. If you don't have that luxury - be careful or buy a spare...

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by tjtj Done with Maytag
This microwave stopped working a year after I paid almost $500 for it (of course, just AFTER the 12 month warranty expired). I took it in for repair diagnostic and they said that it was only a door sensor that went bad but with due to the way the microwave is built you have to buy a bunch of new parts for $250 to fix it.
I build my new house 4 years ago, this is the SECOND brand new Maytag microwave that went bad and needed to be replaced, in addition to a dishwasher that stopped working properly. I, too, am moving on to another brand.
I just saw another review for this microwave and agree that this unit is way too big/bulky/heavy. It is so oversized that teh installer had to saw my cabinets to squeeze it in. This thing is a monster.
