Customer Questions & Answers

fan stays on, why

I've had the product a couple of weeks. I've used it and been satisfied with the convection oven on top and the baking oven on the bottom. One thing I'm dissatisfied with is this annoying fan that continues to run after the oven is off. I counted 50 minutes before it shut off one time and another time 15 minutes. Why does this loud fan continuously run when the oven has been turned off?
Asked by: tdd
Maybe you can help ME! I don't understand the difference between the top oven and the bottom! In the bottom I cooked pulled pork like I always do- 200 for 12 hours. It was tough as a nail. So the next time I used the top and did 200 for 8 hours for a chuck roast....was still raw, even the carrots were still hard after EIGHT + hours. I DON'T GET IT. Why doesn't this cook like my other ovens?? How do I do slow cooks like this? Seems to only work normal if I go over 300 degrees.

Do you have a photo of the location. ? It's not shown in manual.

1110 Volt outlet for Model MEW9627DS?

What is the outlet voltage requirement for Maytag Model MEW9627DS double wall oven? Because the volt specification for this model show 120/240. My kitchen outlet is 110 volts. Can you please clarify whether this model can be wired to 110 volts or not? Thank you.
Asked by: Nestor
Nester, This Double Wall oven is a 240v. It would not work on a 110v outlet. Thank you for viewing this Maytag home appliance.

27 in. Double Electric Wall Oven Self-Cleaning with Convection in Stainless Steel is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 18.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Double Wall Oven!!! I have had this oven for about a month now and it has been great. Convection mode on the top oven works great and seems to cook very evenly for everything so far. This oven has a nice big window that makes seeing what you are cooking really easy without opening the doors. Most of the newer ovens have fans of some sort running whether you cook in convection mode or not. In the case of this oven, the fan does run during cooking and for about 30 minutes after you shut it off, but it really isn't that loud of a fan like some other ovens reportedly have. It is a fairly quiet fan in my opinion and not that disruptive. All in all I love the oven so far.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Looks Good, But Loud We had this oven installed this week. While it cooks very well, the fan is far too loud and runs for quite a while after turning the oven off. There should be a way to either turn the fan off or turn in down.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE these new ovens! Love these new ovens! So much bigger inside than my old 27" ovens. They cook very evenly and I love the big windows on them. I was a bit worried when doing my research on them the major complaint from others was how loud the fans were and how long they stayed on after the ovens were turned off. I've found that if you leave the door open a little the cooling process is much quicker so the fans don't bother me at all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Big and Quiet Just had this installed right before thanksgiving and very pleased with it. Looks great fits well in our space the installer was excellent and so far it seems to work very well. It is quiet with use of convection or not, more so than thermador, easy to use and the rack system makes it easy to cook a variety of things. The slide out rack gives confidence that a heavy item is not going to slide out or fall to ground,

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Looks Greats Have had it less than a month , Like the looks and features, seems too work well and heats up fast. Does seem alittle noisy while cooking , and after, I guess during cool down is still rather noisy. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Maytag Double Oven I bought this double oven (with convection) about 2 months ago. I never had a double oven so I love the convenience of two ovens. These 27-inch ovens have plenty of room inside. The stainless steel outside of the ovens are very pretty. The only downside is the noisy fans that blow the entire time the ovens are in use and until they cool down. From what I have read, all brands have noisy fans. If Maytag can make a quiet dishwasher, why can't they make quiet oven fans?
