I recently bought this range hood on-line at Home Depot. Delivery is on-time and I received a call about a day before delivery and also two hours before actually delivery for confirmation someone will be home to receive it. Pretty much a simple range hood with a light switch and two speed fan switch. Blower fan is plastic and suction is not as strong as my old range hood. But it does the job. For steam, the low speed is OK but for actually cooking, you need to switch to the high speed in order to get the air flow going to push the smoke out. Installation is easy for me since it fits the existing drill holes and vent hole I have. One (strong) person usually able to install it, although two is recommended. The installation guideline is a bit confusing but manageable. I would recommend it if you just want to have a simple range hood that doesn't cost you an arm.

The hood is nice, clean and simple looking. It does it's job and that's all we wanted. We previously purchased a much more expensive hood and within 6 mths we began having problems with the lights until they finally gave out. This hood has two fan speeds, low and high and one light fixture right in the middle of the hood, which really lights up well. Good Buy!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Karen Great value, very quiet range hood
Overall, we are very satisfied with this product. My husband installed it with relatively little trouble (all hangups were from our existing setup) and it's so much quieter than the old range hood we had. We are very happy with it so far.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by AmyG loud but works
I went with maytag hoping for better quality in performance. I could have bought one for half the price and now I can only wonder if I did myself a favor or not... The unit seems very sturdy and well made. Installed easily and looks great, BUT... That's not its purpose sadly. It has 2 speeds on the fan but may as well only have one; as low is useless.... it does work efficiently on high but it's so very loud you have to raise your voice to talk to the person next to you.... I wish it had a clock and a nightlight but as they say.... you get what you pay for. I'll deal with the noise because I can't afford to not. Overall it works fine and looks great...just a little noisy.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by atr1 It's fine for the price.
Price was the deciding factor. Given that, it's a great hood with decent value.
That said, the only complaints are:
-the fan is noisy (wind noise though, it seems balanced and the motor is essentially silent) since it's a bladed fan and not a squirrel cage blower. On low speed the fan noise is just fine, but then of course it doesn't extract much air.
-the location of the switches is most of the way "up the hill" on the sloped front, so they can be hard to reach for a shorter person to reach.
-the included damper is pretty flimsy. Mine needed some tweaking to get it to close by itself after the fan was shut off. Very thin sheet metal and easily deformed. Not too big a deal to sort out.
Can't yet comment on longevity of the fan motor, which should be the only real wear item.

it works as advertised. it is not an expensive unit, but it clears the air and the light over the stove top makes cooking easy.

Who would think a range hood would cost so much!. I wanted something modern and stylish but when I saw how much range hoods cost I changed my mind. My plan now is to build my own chimney with 2x4's and sheetrock with this hood to finish it off. Great price. Nice design. I'm very satisfied.
