Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Buyer Beware! We purchased the immediate predecessor model of this refrigerator 31/2 years ago and we are about to give it last rites. It has needed about $800 in repairs in the last 2 months:1) both glides for the freezer drawer, 2)Circuit panel, 3) ice maker. The circuit panel was needed to stop the icing in the bottom of the freezer mentioned by others. When this worked we enjoyed it and would have recommended it. The service tech keeps telling us "They don't make them like they used to" Keep in mind that Whirlpool makes this and sells variants of this refrigerator under brand names Whirlpool, Amana, KitchenAid and possibly others. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Looms/works ok Ice maker is super loud, so I'm glad when the bucket fills. Otherwise, I don't like how the handle bolts to the front of the refrigerator door. They use little rubber nubs to hide the screws if you want to reverse the door. In addition, screwing the door handle into the door dimples the stainless steel facade. Otherwise the LED lighting is nice. July 7, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Exactly what I wanted and needed. Have only had the refrigerator for 10 days. It is operating exactly as it should. Purchased online after seeing in a store and reading numerous positive reviews. This frig has one door which I wanted after reading of frequent hinge problems with French Doors. Bottom freezer is big and bottom drawer can be pulled out while top drawer stays in freezer, making it easier to find and store items. Top drawer can be pulled out as needed. Ice maker working well. Lots of adjustable shelf space in frig. Like the extra flat drawer at bottom of frig that goes all the way across. Stores a lot of smaller items or a whole sheet cake if needed for that. Quiet operation. One deciding factor on purchasing this frig is that it is electrical, not digital and there is a 10 yr limited warranty on the compressor. So far am very happy with this purchase. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Disappointed I bought this Maytag Refrigerator less than 3 years ago based on great reviews. This Summer the freezer stopped working. The repair guy came and repaired the unit. Two months later the freezer stopped working again and shortly afterwards the fridge stopped working as well. I was glad I still had the HD protection plan on this unit. The refrigerator was declared unrepairable and the HD protection plan refunded me for what I initially paid. Thinking back, I've never had an appliance that quit working in such a short time (less than 3 years). I am disappointed to learn the lesson that no matter how much someone is researching and pays in the hope to get a good product, all are poorly made this days. Make your decision based on value, price and features rather than consumer report and reviews, but I recommend buying the HD protection plan for 5 years! November 8, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by fits in horribly tight hallways (for delivery) i really wish the refrigerator had a water dispenser. some reviews said it was noisy. it only turns on for a short while, i'm assuming charging the compressor and turns off. is it silent? no, it's a motored it as loud as others make it sound? heck team was fast and friendly. still too early to know about the ice maker. i'm waiting on my plumber to hook it up...LED lighting lights it up well. freezer is a bit small. all in all, nice to have the refrigerator part up top. far less bending down to get the items we use most. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Big and bright inside with movable shelves, good door storage for large items It's not a high-end fridge but it's not a low-end one either, a fair price for the quality. Good lighting inside. You can move the refrigerator shelves around as you please, the storage on the door is large and practical and you can pretty much see everything you've got. I really like the one long drawer on the bottom as a different storage option. Freezer space is a decent size. Good ice maker. The refrigerator isn't loud, quiet in fact. Only thing I don't get is what another reviewer commented on - 2 little plastic buttons on the outside of the front door that don't seem to have any reason to be there. One of them keeps falling out. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by fine, but has a massive fresh drawer design flaw while I like the size and efficiency of this fridge, it is made with a serious design flaw. the plastic piece that holds up both of the crisper drawers is in itself held up by a very small plastic tab. if you use your crispers expect to replace this part on average every year. I think if I end up getting a 3d printer it will be just to redesign this part. it's a nice fridge but this design flaw means I don't suggest this fridge unless you want to replace the crisper rail every year or don't use your crispers much... Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Problems down the road! Historical problems with this design. Many disgruntled owners (myself included). Layer of ice forms on bottom of freezer area and then leaks onto floor. I suppose if I don't use my freezer I'd be fine. Considering class action lawsuit. May 18, 2015
