Can you wash a king size comforter in this machine?
Asked by: Bone
I do, and they come out fine. I use the power wash cycle and the deep fill option. I use Gain Flings, usually 2 for a really large load.

6.2 cu. ft. Top Load Washer in Metallic Slate is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 138.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from great capacity I absolutely love the capacity of the machine however, I have mixed reviews on the agitation. I find that the motion tends to twist the clothing and routinely find when I remove the clothes and un-twist them there are deposits of lint and soap residue remaining. I regularly have to wipe the residue off of my clothing. It most frequently occurs when washing pants. The deep fill and extra rinse help somewhat but does not eliminate the issue. I now routinely run every cycle with deep fill and extra rinse. And to confirm - I do use the HE detergent per instruction. I have also found that items such as shirts with straps will get twisted together with other items. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I replaced my defective Samsung washer with this Maytag under the Samsung rebate program. I am really glad I chose Maytag. This machine gets the clothes really clean, even things that are very dirty. It uses enough water to get the cloths wet, unlike the Samsung. It has a Deep fill option that I always use. I believe clothes need to be wet . not just damp to get clean. I have dogs and cats so I have blankets and comforters that they sleep on. They are coming out looking and smelling really clean. The tub is very large, a feature I wanted, so I could wash comforters. The Samsung also had a large tub, but was so deep I could not reach the bottom to get the clothes out. I used a grabber, so not a big deal. This machine has a bigger tub but is not as deep, I can reach the bottom. I still use the grabber for small items. I am 5'3", so I am short.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Thought it Had an Agitator / Great Thus Far We got rid of our 3 year old Samsung front-loader not because it was not working; but, because we were tired of it not cleaning clothes well. We also were tired of having to clean the mildew from it which if not done often causes front-loaders to smell. I actually bought this Maytag sight unseen because I viewed a Maytag with an agitator which is what I originally went to an appliance store to purchase. We decided upon this one with a larger tub assuming it would have an agitator as well. Fortunately, this one with what I think is referred to as a waffle at the bottom of the tub, has been performing well thus far; so, we will keep it because the large tub has really been handy for washing blankets. My wife is very pleased as well with its cleaning capabilities. The only drawback is now she wants us to get rid of our 2 year old LG dryer so as to get a Maytag larger tub dryer. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing! We tried most of the other brands including the top of the line large capacity front loaders. We finally bought these and are soooooo freaking happy. The clothes don't get stretched or overly wrinkled like the other HE units. They are moderately loud, but totally worth it. We use the timed drying option on the dryer so the clothes get completely dry. Washer doesn't leak at the bottom like the LG did and these Maytag units are both pretty lightweight for sliding around if needed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Mother's Best Friend Maytag! Where have you been all my life? This was the best thing (size) ever created in a washer. As a mother of 4, laundry is so exciting these days because I can finally finish my laundry. I can do three loads in one. I am definitely going back to purchase the dryer. The only problem I have is the chrome part on the lid leaves finger prints, but it gets the job done so I will have to live with the finger prints. So that's why the 4 stars on design. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best and big washer I have read the reviews and some negative about it Some said it was noisy, didn't clean well, but I found out that it was super quiet compare with my other 3 sets of the front loader Super large capacity help make less work and time spending doing the laundry Did not sake like crazy compared to the front loader Love everything about it Well worth the investment Highly recommended

I am impressed with the large capacity of this washer as compared to its dimensions. It is not too deep, and so it fit in my smallish laundry closet without blocking the doors. Yet its capacity is huge. This Maytag washer's large capacity handles as medium loads what would have been overloads in my former average sized washer from a different brand. And my new Maytag never bounces around, not one inch. My former washer would crash around so violently that I would have to shut it off and redistribute the load; this is never a problem with my new Maytag. This new washer is not completely silent, but it is a lot quieter than my old washer. I also like that this Maytag has a steam option. I was a bit apprehensive about all the new washer's many controls, but its operation could not be easier. And it is made in America, too. I had thought about getting a frontloader, but then I found out that they all require monthly cleaning of the filter which necessitates manually draining water into a tray that has to be emptied by hand -- no way would I have the patience to do that. I am very pleased with this Maytag top load washer and the delivery and set up. Zero problems.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Huge capacity...Disappointing wash cycle. I purchased this washer more than 2 weeks ago and have not been impressed to say the least. The capacity is what caught my attention with this clothes washer along with the Maytag reputation. I've also never had a washer that that was high efficiency and also didn't have an agitator until now. It would appear as though the agitator really is necessary. You basically throw your laundry in, it gets a little damp or maybe a little wet, you see a little movement from the wash plate spinning back and forth but the clothes hardly move at all. So there's really no "working the clothes" in the wash cycle. The machine has what it calls a "power wash" cycle. You would think that that feature would spray the closes a little harder or something but it doesn't. It basically just pours water over the top of the clothes. I would also say that the time to wash a load, is much longer than I would have expected. The "normal" wash cycle takes 107 minutes. I also didn't realize that the wash plate was plastic until I installed it. I assumed that is was stainless steel just like the wash tub. Wow! Not impressed with anything other than the ability to put a lot of laundry in it. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
