What is the reduction in BTUs for burners and oven when converted to propane?

Asked by: Anonymous
carol, The information you are seeking is readily available. Measurements for burner output are done in natural gas mode. This range is available to be converted to Liquid Propane. In order to determine any reduction in BTU's after conversion I would suggest that you contact your local gas supply utility company or contact our Home Depot/Maytag Hotline. The number is 877.461.3376, option 2, option 1. From here you will be able to speak with a parts and service specialist. They would be able to assist further. Thank you for viewing this Maytag home appliance.

I can not find the online rebate form for the free griddle offer. Where can I find this form?

Asked by: NeedHelp
If you scroll down to the product overview there is a box over to the right side of the page. Click on the "Specifications" tab there and it will take you to the rebate form for the griddle that you can print and submit. They don't allow online submissions because you have to submit a receipt with it as well. We couldn't find it either when we bought our stove, ended up talking to two different customer service agents before we finally located the link for it. The link below is where you can find the form: http://www.homedepot.com/catalog/pdfImages/f0/f01b30d9-4b93-4331-9209-8a3f03f53b50.pdf

Auqalift self cleaning oven

I have tried the Auqalift cleaning feature and it does absolutley nothing. It is a useless feature. The manual says you cannot use oven cleaners. Does anyone have a solution? Also the enamal top is very hard to clean. Any suggestions on a product, I have tried everything and nothing works. Wish I had my old GE back.
Asked by: Sean
Sean, I apologize for the issues that you are experiencing and am surprised. I have personally used the AquaLift Clean Cycle and have loved it. If you are experiencing sub par results, then I would suggest call our hotline. They can troubleshoot with your further and can setup a service call if deemed necessary. Also, for the cooking surface, I would ensure you are using a cooktop cleaner and protector. This cleaner is similar to a wax and creates an easy to clean surface for spills. Thank you for viewing this Maytag range and being a Maytag customer. The Home Depot/ Maytag Hotline 877.461.3376 Option 2, Option 1

I need a new stove within a week but would like to know the advantages as well as disavantages of electric and gas stove? Thank you

Asked by: Warren
Warren, For today's freestanding ranges, the decision between gas and electric is really up to your preference. Gas cooktops will tend to heating up a little more quickly boil water a little faster. Also, there is slightly more control with gas although the electric is flexible. For the oven, electric tends to provide consistent results, but with newer technology gas does a great job also. It would be hard to provide a recommendation for this model of going with gas or electric. I would choose whichever fuel type you feel most comfortable cooking with. Thank you.

Does this oven have a broiler at the bottom or just a storage drawer?

There's nothing in the demo video on that. It makes difference for us since I like to roast veggies.
Asked by: MarVistan
There is a broiler at the top of the oven. The space below the oven is just a drawer, not a warming drawer, for storage.

what is the difference between the maytag freestanding gas convection range collection item #203187914 and the maytag freestanding gas coll 203187972

Asked by: Anonymous
jenny, The 203187914 is the MGR8775AS and the 203187972 is the MGR8880AS. Both models are part of the New Maytag Freestanding Range with AquaLift Technology plan to sell. Being in the same series allows for some similar features, however the MGR8880AS will add the following: EvenAir True Convection Cooking System uses both a fan and high-wattage element for faster baking and broiling than a traditional thermal oven. And the Auto Conversion feature automatically converts standard recipe times and temperatures. The MGR8775AS has standard convection. Thank you for viewing these Maytag Freestanding Gas Ranges.

Customer Reviews

AquaLift 5.8 cu. ft. Gas Range with Self-Cleaning Convection Oven in Stainless Steel-DISCONTINUED is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 146.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do not buy!!!! I have hated this range from the get-go. I bought it because I thought the name Maytag meant quality. I thought I would love this stove. I got all the options everyone raves about. Firstly, it has 5 burners, but the center one is small, and you can't have 5 pots on the stove at once anyway. I hated the 2 heavy grates that each covered half the stove. I hated that there are no drip pans - if something cooks over, it runs ALL OVER the top of the whole stove, because there is no separation. Convection oven - did not notice ANY difference from any regular baking I have done, and I do bake alot. And now the real reasons I hate it even more. I bought this stove in Jan. 2014. Hated it for 2 years, but kept it because of the price. Then the oven started acting it. It would light, and heat, but when it would reach the desired temp, and cycle off, it sometimes would, and sometimes would not, re-light to continue baking. So, if I put something in for 45 minutes or an hour, and never checked it, I'd open the oven to find that it shut off after 15 minutes, and my food was not done. I called the dealer where I bought it, and had them send a repairman. (Stove was out of warranty after 1 year.) I paid $100 to have them look at it and guess that it was the bake ignitor, and harness. Got a new one. Additional $175. Now have $275 in repairs in a 2-year old stove. The next part they wanted to 'try' to repair it was a DSI board at a cost of over $200. I called the store manager where I bought it and he said they could not give me a break on the repair price. He advised I call Maytag. I called Maytag about 4 times. I told them I knew technically the stove was out of warranty, but don't they think their product should last more than 2 years??? I got no satisfaction. Terrible, terrible customer service. I have advised them, as I am advising you, DO NOT BUY Maytag, Whirlpool, Jenn-air, or Amana, as they are ALL made by this same company. Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love it! But really heats up the house! This stove had everything I was looking for - clean lines, large glass oven door, 5 burners, all of the bells and whistles AND it looked more expensive than it cost! My only complaint is that the burners and stove are so powerful that they really heat up my kitchen when I'm using them. But I can definitely live with it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good For the Price I love my maytag range...It took a little bit to get use to the different heat range of the burners . The only thing I can think of they could improve on is the ease of how the knobs turn on the stove. I have been cooking something and noticed that another burner knob has been turned by me just brushing against it and has turned the gas on but has not lite because it didn't get turned on to the point that the electric igniter clicked on.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great features oven has large window, 2 large burners with the smaller burners, the broiler is on the top of the oven, very nice change from being in the bottom with all the dust on other models, especially if you have dogs, convection oven is great

Rated 4 out of 5 by from As much as the stove cost, it should have come with a broiler pan free of charge. I'm loving my new stove however a little disappointed that the broiler pan was not included in the purchase. The stove came with a order booklet to purchase additional items for your stove like a broiler pan for $35.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Walk away The gas burners on this oven decide not to light at least once a month and you have to manually light them to get them going again. They are inconsistent in how they heat. The small burners that should be able to keep something simmering on low, just go out and stop burning at all on low and if they stay lit, they don't heat evenly (whether you use traditional cast iron or porcelain coated or copper. The convection fan went out the day after the warranty expired and at 3-years-old, the oven is now going out. Don't even get me started on cleaning this one - the cheap paint over the Maytag logo peeled off in the first year and no, I didn't use a rough scrubber on it, I only use appropriate cleaning products and non scratch sponges or microfiber cloths on it. This was a huge waste of money and source of frustration. Maytag is nothing like it used to be, it is just cheap junk now.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This product is terrible We have had to have service out more than 6 times on a 8 mth old oven! Seems like the just blindly kept replacing parts until something worked. It's been a huge disappointment to have so many problems with a new appliance. Will be the last Maytag I ever but!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This product is perfect for my needs. I shopped around for the product that best suited my needs. Additionally, I want to support the American worker as much as possible. MAYTAG met and exceeded what I was looking for in a quality Large Capacity Gas Range appliance. As an added benefit I found that the oven was equipped with AQUALIFT self cleaning technology which makes cleaning a breeze. Admittedly, the AQUALIFT was a bonus feature that I had not originally considered. My kitchen is solely equipped with MAYTAG appliances. Including, Gas Range, Microwave, French Door Refrigerator and Dishwasher. I do not think you can go wrong with MAYTAG. They are the only appliances I own.
