Customer Questions & Answers

Does this oven have a broiler at the bottom or just a storage drawer?

There's nothing in the demo video on that. It makes difference for us since I like to roast veggies.
Asked by: MarVistan
Broiler is in the main oven compartment. Bottom draw is just for storage. Broiler in the oven works just fine for roasting veggies, however. Top rack position is very close to the broiler, and there are two broiler settings: hi and lo. You could also roast the veggies in the middle rack on 400 degrees CONVECT, which gives them a nice brown, roasted outside, but allows for longer cooking time, which is good for root veggies like carrots or parsnips.

I need a new stove within a week but would like to know the advantages as well as disavantages of electric and gas stove? Thank you

Asked by: Warren
Gas stoves are faster to heat as the heat is immediate as soon as you turn on the flame. Whereas an electric stove requires some time to heat up the coils. While gas heats up very quickly, they also cool down quickly once the flame is gone, so it provides a level of safety that an electric does not. Temperature control on a gas stove is much more precise and easy to manage and maintain. Temperature changes are immediate with gas so that you can better manage the level of heat you require for cooking. Gas stoves are a little more cost effective to run. Even though they may initially cost more than an electric stove to purchase, the amount of time to recover a savings is much less. A gas stove will heat up your kitchen less than an electric range as well. With gas you don't have to worry so much about how flat the stove is sitting because as long as you have flame your food will cook in the pans. With electric the pots/pans have to have direct and even contact with the entire coil to ensure that it cooks properly and doesn't have hot and cold spots. If you ever experience a power outage at least with gas you will still be able to cook or heat up water, etc. as you aren't dependent on electricity. With the Maytag Aqualift it also offers the convection option for baking which works incredibly well for making things like fries, cookies or anything that is baked in a more shallow pan as it evenly distributes the heat all around the item being baked. Just as with the cooking, baking with gas provides a more even and precise outcome. I have had both gas and electric ranges and will never go back to using electric. I have had this particular stove for almost 2 months now and it performs well, looks great, was a great value and arrived very quickly once ordered. Highly would recommend going with a gas stove.

I can not find the online rebate form for the free griddle offer. Where can I find this form?

Asked by: NeedHelp
If you scroll down to the product overview there is a box over to the right side of the page. Click on the "Specifications" tab there and it will take you to the rebate form for the griddle that you can print and submit. They don't allow online submissions because you have to submit a receipt with it as well. We couldn't find it either when we bought our stove, ended up talking to two different customer service agents before we finally located the link for it. The link below is where you can find the form: http://www.homedepot.com/catalog/pdfImages/f0/f01b30d9-4b93-4331-9209-8a3f03f53b50.pdf

AquaLift 5.8 cu. ft. Gas Range with Self-Cleaning Convection Oven in White-DISCONTINUED is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 22.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love it! But really heats up the house! This stove had everything I was looking for - clean lines, large glass oven door, 5 burners, all of the bells and whistles AND it looked more expensive than it cost! My only complaint is that the burners and stove are so powerful that they really heat up my kitchen when I'm using them. But I can definitely live with it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great features oven has large window, 2 large burners with the smaller burners, the broiler is on the top of the oven, very nice change from being in the bottom with all the dust on other models, especially if you have dogs, convection oven is great

Rated 4 out of 5 by from As much as the stove cost, it should have come with a broiler pan free of charge. I'm loving my new stove however a little disappointed that the broiler pan was not included in the purchase. The stove came with a order booklet to purchase additional items for your stove like a broiler pan for $35.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Walk away The gas burners on this oven decide not to light at least once a month and you have to manually light them to get them going again. They are inconsistent in how they heat. The small burners that should be able to keep something simmering on low, just go out and stop burning at all on low and if they stay lit, they don't heat evenly (whether you use traditional cast iron or porcelain coated or copper. The convection fan went out the day after the warranty expired and at 3-years-old, the oven is now going out. Don't even get me started on cleaning this one - the cheap paint over the Maytag logo peeled off in the first year and no, I didn't use a rough scrubber on it, I only use appropriate cleaning products and non scratch sponges or microfiber cloths on it. This was a huge waste of money and source of frustration. Maytag is nothing like it used to be, it is just cheap junk now.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE-LOVE the convection feature This stove is very easy to understand and use. This range is great for the type of cooking I do. The convection feature is what I was originally drawn to. Very quick-even. It is also very handy when I need cooking done a little faster. The large burners really get the water boiling faster. The center burner has turned out to be a blessing that I didn't know I would really use. The large capacity oven is a godsend!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sharp looks, expansive stove top We purchased this range to replace our old Maytag gas range, which was 12 years old. We love the expansive stove top, with the grates that cover the entire top and are on one plane. The five burners offer versatility, and plenty of output for whatever we might be cooking. The oven is larger than our last model, and I know we will use the "off-set" bottom rack for Thanksgiving turkey and Christmas roast. The extra large window allows you to easily see whatever is baking. The oven runs a little cool on regular mode and a little hot on convection mode, according to our oven thermometer, but every oven we have owned has had an "operating temperature window". Overall, we are very happy with our purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great stove The stove looks great and has alot of nice features. I received this just a couple of days before Thanksgiving. I put it through it's paces and it did well! For the first time I could have everything in the oven at the same time instead of doing the food shuffle. The stainless is easy to clean and keep shined up, but you do need to buy some stainless steel wipes or cleaner to help with that. The stainless parts are not fingerprint or smudge-proof, so you will see fingerprints if you don't polish it. The black cooktop area is hard to keep clean. Everything shows up and it just smears when you try to clean it. The cooking grates are decently substantial and keep the heat. Love the big oven window, makes it so easy to keep track of what's in there without having to open the door all the time. The biggest problem with this stove, outside of being slightly difficult to keep clean, is the configuration of the burners. It would have been nice to have had at least one of the big burners in the back instead of both being in front. With small children in the house, cooking things on the front burners can be kind of scary. The design would have been absolutely perfect had they put the more high powered burner in the back and moved the low powered simmer burner to the front. But overall, this stove works great. I cook every day and bake quite a bit, so far we've not had anything come out bad. The convection works great for making crispy fries. The other big downfall is not from the stove but from Home Depot. They failed to inform us when scheduling delivery and set up that they don't actually connect the stove. So we were surprised when they delivered it to our kitchen and left it sit. The delivery person said that a licensed plumber has to install it, they aren't allowed and that they wish Home Depot told people that because everyone expects that is what they are paying for with delivery and set up. For the money you can't go wrong with this stove. It brings an updated, modern look to any kitchen, performs well and looks good doing it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Will enjoy The oven space is great & it had 3 shelves. I don't particularly like the material the grates are made of because they scratched the bottom of my cookware. Also, the first time I used the convection oven, it set off my smoke alarms. We had to disengage the alarms to stop the racket. The next time I used the regular oven & it was fine.
