CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 4 out of 5 by 165 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Solid, old-school washing machine Have heard too many bad stories about all of the newer style electronic/HE machines and expensive repairs so we decided to go with an old school style machine with the mix of features we wanted (2nd rinse, delicate cycle, large capacity). We have 6 people in our house so this machine has already gotten heavy use in its first week or so. No issues, not too noisy but not silent. The lid locking feature is something to be aware of but it is because of its high spin speed which does a great job of getting the cloths fairly dry. We've cut down significantly (50%) on dryer times compared to our older GE model that this one replaced. Happy so far. Interesting that we can no longer smell any of the detergent or softners on the clothes when we pull them out. Assuming it is because they are cleaner with less residual soap. January 14, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by The cycles make different sounds that have beats that you could dance to This is Sandy. Tom went with me on our anniversary so I could buy my washer. I love it! It's cute & compact, great bouncy, porcelain drum that's deep & non-plastic dials/dashboard. The 3 soil level selections makes it super easy, multiple wash cycles assures that I select the correct one for my clothes or bedding & I thinks it is genius that there is a cycle to clean the washer itself. One button start & for those that have children at home, how can you not appreciate and be thankful for the lid lock? I am so very happy with this washer & my new, black fridge! Thank you, Maytag!!!!! I could go on & on.... October 7, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Works Good I bought this washer back in May after 12 years with my previous washer. It took me 2 months to make a choice. It does make some really strange noise which I was warned about and it doesn't take to long for a load to wash. What I liked it that I could choose the soil level and the wash size. The only thing I really don't care for is the lid locks once the washer fills with water. I have noticed that my clothes do come out a lot less wet than with my old washer which has cut down on my drying time. October 15, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Absolutely Less Is More I was tired of front load HE washers not getting our clothes' tough stains out, but this commercial Maytag model really does the trick. Sure, it probably wastes more water than HE models, but dog hair and our two kids requires a real washer. For the first time in years, my wife's black work out pants come out of the wash free of lint and dog hairs, and the kids' clothes that are covered in finger paint and smashed berries come out stain free. So happy we made the change. September 3, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Bottom line, the clothes are very clean but..... The clothes are superbly clean but that comes with a price. Other reviews complain about the locking lid feature. I agree, it's a drag. I don't get to decide how long I soak items either, the machine does. If you missed a sock, you will put in the next load period. It has a high squealing noise that I read in other reviews and it spins so intensely that if there is anything on top of the machine, it will wind up on the floor. Other than that, it does it's job. Would I buy another? Probably not, I'll go back to the old school simple one when this one dies. It is a very loud cycle from beginning to end. September 15, 2014
