Cleaning time is based on the setting you choose. I believe you can take as long as 3 hours, but the setting we use is around 1 hour and our dishes are clean.
I had to install our unit myself, cost was not included. As we were only replacing our old dishwasher, installing this new unit, went very well.

Yes, and in some cases, longer. They say this is more efficient, but what it means is they reduced the jetting pressure and force the dishwasher to run longer. This dishwasher is not good at cleaning dishes with sticky, dry, or tough food on them. Forget about getting lipstick and fingerprints off your glassware, and don't expect this dishwasher to clean pots and pans.

The normal wash runs over 2 hours (close to 3 hours). So, yes, the cycles are long. The price does not include installation.
I really don't mind the longer cleaning cycle because I run mine at night before bed and empty it in the morning.

AVOID this model at all costs. The board had died TWICE. Now, when you pull the door open, the control panel pops off too. Every time. Now you have to pop it back in. Getting a new dishwasher today because this one has been awful.

No way. I found out the hard way by not checking reviews and purchasing one. Two years old and controls failed on mine. Maytag does not take responsibility for this defect so you are on your own. Plan to spend $200 - $300 to get it fixed. If you have not purchased a dishwasher I suggest you stay away from any Whirlpool brand. No more Whirlpool products will ever be purchased for my home again.

This new dishwasher and the current lineup have no known issues, especially concerning the control board. The old lineup had no known issues either that were consistently documented at least to cause concern. Whirlpool corporation has the least repaired dishwashers in the industry for the last several years.
This Maytag dishwasher for peace of mind comes with a one year limited warranty on the whole product and a ten year limited warranty on specific parts. For added peace of mind you can purchase The Home Depot Protection Plans (see website or contact your local store for more details).
I hope you have found this information helpful. Thank you for viewing this Maytag home appliance.

Between the side of the dishwasher and the cabinet; best to pull the dishwasher out from under the cabinet during the exhaust cycle to prevent warping and mold to cabinets if you have wood. If you have metal or plastic cabinets, you should be okay (just wipe down with bleach once a month where the condensation collects).

This dishwasher doesn't have filter since has a garburator that grinds small foods not scrubbed from plates. I use a heated option because our water tank heater is set to medium heat. I put dishwasher on after 7pm to use off peak power which is cheaper. Fully loaded, dishes come out spotlessly clean and dry. We have this dishwasher already 3 month and very happy with washing results

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Dishwasher for Beach House It is very quiet and cleans dishes thoroughly. I've been using the Cascade packets since one came with it, and have no issues with leftover food, or water stains. I'm in the NJ shore, and have only had this for 3 months, but no problems so far. The stainless steel looks good and is not pitting, like the GE Cafe model I have at home, which I bought 10 years ago. I may upgrade to this model since it's cheaper, and seems better made. FYI, I have all stainless appliance, but all are from different manufacturers and they all match. Fridgidare refridgerator, Maytag DW, GE range, Sharp microwave. August 26, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Replaced my very old and noisey Kitchenaid Took some time to look at all the different brands and styles. Settled on this one because of: 1. The silverware basket is not in the door. My old dishwasher had the basket in the door and if you took in out of the dishwasher it came apart and all the silverware was on the floor. 2. I liked the slanted top rack. I can put tall glasses and plastic containers to one side. 3. Was happy to actually find an appliance still made in the USA. 4. Liked the overall look of the dishwasher. After having it a few months now, the only complaints I have is the time it takes to run a load of dishes and the pushing the on button twice to start the machine. It does clean very well and it very quite. My old dishwasher sounded like a jet taking off. I will take a 3-4 hour clean time if the dishes come out clean and I can't hear it running. August 31, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by best dishwasher we have owned! This machine is amazingly quiet and washes dishes without prerinse. We are very happy with it. August 30, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Thank goodness! We replaced a Frigidaire Gallery dishwasher that was 19 months old with this unit. First DO NOT buy any Frigidaire appliance....my entire kitchen is the Gallery line, all in for 19 months, and everyone of them is a piece of junk. Constantly broken, have never worked as they should. ANYWAY, this Maytag cleans beautifully, everything comes out DRY, and no odor in the unit. I can't say about the energy efficiency because haven't had my first electric bill since it was installed. Is so roomy inside. July 18, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Value for Price, Really Cleans Well When our last dishwasher failed after 5 years, I purchased this dishwasher mostly based on other reviews, and we love it. Most surprising is how well it cleans the dishes. They come out spotless. The noise is acceptable, you can hear it running but it does not disrupt even low-volume conversations. Would recommend this to anyone. July 15, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by poorest quaity ever This Maytag dishwasher lasted less than 3 years. The company blames poor quality on parts from outside source , so not their problem. Please buy any other brand. You will be glad you didn't buy Maytag. July 21, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Purchase a better one.. The dishwasher is dead for 4th time in 2 years. Control Panel circuit was changed 3 times. Now the tech is saying the dishwasher needs to be replaced. July 22, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by DOESN'T CLEAN WELL I bought this dishwasher last year and installed in my new kitchen in Oct. I read and followed the instructions -- these new units don't work well. They are quiet but take 4 hrs to run a load. I do not prerinse my dishes - why bother with a dishwasher. My past two dishwashers could take off week old melted cheese. Not this one. Always half the stuff on top is still dirty. I have to run it on the power blast cycle and add extra detergent to get it this clean. Called the repair guy - he said that it was with in specs but that these new units don't clean well. Great. June 2, 2016
