Answer:
Pat, the warranty tag can be taken off the dishwasher; however, if you are referring to the model and serial tag located around the frame of the dishwasher it is not to come off. Hopefully this information is beneficial to you. Thank you for your inquiry regarding our Maytag appliances!

i had this problem and it turns out the circuit board (or something of this type) rusted. It had to be replaced. Poor design. You'll have to call for repair through Whirlpool and mostly likely wait 20minutes before you speak with someone. Good Luck.

make sure the door is fully closed, and that the options you have selected work with the cycle...try a quick load first.if this does not work, kill the breaker to the dishwasher for 10 min. then turn it back on , that might rset the machine,...but sounds like a door latch problem to me.

Front Control Dishwasher in Monochromatic Stainless Steel with Stainless Steel Tub and Steam Cleaning is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 7445.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dishwasher for Beach House It is very quiet and cleans dishes thoroughly. I've been using the Cascade packets since one came with it, and have no issues with leftover food, or water stains. I'm in the NJ shore, and have only had this for 3 months, but no problems so far. The stainless steel looks good and is not pitting, like the GE Cafe model I have at home, which I bought 10 years ago. I may upgrade to this model since it's cheaper, and seems better made. FYI, I have all stainless appliance, but all are from different manufacturers and they all match. Fridgidare refridgerator, Maytag DW, GE range, Sharp microwave.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Powerful Machine Easy to understand and use, without gimmicky extra cycles. Quiet, quieter running than the Kitchenaid it replaced, and still has a hard food grinder for no dish scraping or messy screens to stink & clean. The polished SS tank looks expensive, and the nylon racks should hold up for 20 years. The cycles are longer, like 2 hours, but use less water, and dishes are spotless. After lot's of comparing, I think the Maytag has the best balance of quality, features and cost. Home depot delivery/installation was excellent as well as a value, they were right on time.

This dishwasher is a replacement for a Whirlpool dishwasher that we used for 5 years till the motor burnt out. The key selling points for the Maytag were the stainless steel tub , steam cleaning feature, assembled in Findlay, Ohio and sale price at Home Depot. We have been using it for one month. It cleans much better than the Whirlpool. Dishes truly sparkle. I did not read any where that the detergent door was designed for pod products only. We are using the remaining liquid detergent and it seems to work fine. Features are as described and I only have two negative, First, filling the rinse agent container is difficult and the direction are two generic across models to provide much help. Not sure I still fully understand how to do it. Second, the bottom rack doesn't have sizing options, sliding rack options that accommodate larger bowls. I think the racks are not well made. The silverware compartment is too big and consumes much of the bottom rack. My Whirlpool had the silverware rack in the door. It was very convenient and took less space away from the bottom rack. To solve this problem I took the bottom rack out of the Whirlpool and am using the Whirlpool silverware caddy in the top rack. That silverware caddy is smaller than the one that comes with the Maytag and seems to work well for everything but large cooking utensils.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Last Maytag I will buy. Purchased this dishwasher in September 2015. I gave it 2 stars only because it functioned very well at first. The first sign of trouble was an odd clicking sound once in a while. The sound got worse. Then we noticed the dishes started coming out dirty. I called Maytag and asked for a technician to come out and repair it. That's when I was told it was one month out of warranty. I asked the rep about the 10 year parts warranty. I was then informed that the 10 year warranty only covered the tub, the washer blades and the disposal blades. These 3 parts are stainless steel and will never need service!! So basically the 10 year warranty is a 1 year warranty. I decided to try repairing it myself. After disassembling the motor/pump section, I found the problem. The disposal section is nothing more than a blade up against a screen. The screen is too fine and gets clogged up, pushing the blade off of the motor. That was the clicking sound. It looks like the disposal is not designed very well and is prone to clogging. If this happens, it seems to affect the water pressure to the point that there is barely any water coming out of the washer blades. Also, the connection between the disposal blades and the motor is a plastic gear that slips when the disposal is clogged, grinding down the teeth and making the disposal non-functional. Lastly, the door gasket started leaking. This is a new development. I cannot recommend this dishwasher based on misleading warranty advertisement, cheaply made parts and poor design of the disposal. Hope I save someone some headache. This is my first and last Maytag appliance. (They also make whirlpool)

The inside performance and quality are great. However, noticed yesterday that there are several rust stains on the exterior door, near the bottom of the front door. Why is the front of my otherwise nice dishwasher rusting. Paid $649.00 for this product.

We bought this dishwasher in May 2015 after a lightning strike took out our old one. It was super quiet and did a good job cleaning dishes. However now, just 18 months down the road, it no longer works. The part that is not working is only covered under the 1 year warranty. So, I am looking once again for a dishwasher. Beware if it starts making noise. That is a sign that things are going wrong.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Replaced my very old and noisey Kitchenaid Took some time to look at all the different brands and styles. Settled on this one because of: 1. The silverware basket is not in the door. My old dishwasher had the basket in the door and if you took in out of the dishwasher it came apart and all the silverware was on the floor. 2. I liked the slanted top rack. I can put tall glasses and plastic containers to one side. 3. Was happy to actually find an appliance still made in the USA. 4. Liked the overall look of the dishwasher. After having it a few months now, the only complaints I have is the time it takes to run a load of dishes and the pushing the on button twice to start the machine. It does clean very well and it very quite. My old dishwasher sounded like a jet taking off. I will take a 3-4 hour clean time if the dishes come out clean and I can't hear it running.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great dishwasher...super quiet we bought this dishwasher during the Labor Day sale..Home Depot was 50 dollars cheaper than the Nebraska Furniture Mart. It replaces an older Maytag that had seen better days. I am a loyal Maytag customer...great products. This thing cleans very quietly, and the dishes come out super clean....the only thing i dont like is on the power blast cycle, it is over 3 hrs for the complete cycle.. to save energy...well by saving on the water consumption, ya end up using more electricity....but , i can live with that ...i will just start it when i go to bed.
