Washer has lived up to previous ratings and most recent CR ratings. Price online was the best available anywhere and included delivery, setup and haul away. Time will tell as to reliability. We have been using this washer for three weeks. Normal cycle (45 Minutes) seems to work well for most of our needs.

I bought this is December 2013, when it was on sale for $699. Got it delivered to my new home in March 2014. Works like a charm. Quiet, efficient, uses less water and electricity.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Darrell I should have purchased a machine like this years ago.
This review comes from a single guy who never cared about washers or dryers as long as they got clothes clean. I had a 20 year old top Maytag top loader that I purchased right out of college. Up until last week, I had to monitor my wash cycle just to add fabric softner to my clothes. My old Maytag finally died so off I went into Home Depot to find me another 399.00 washing machine and be done. I had a washer picked out and while the guy at Home Depot was checking to see what Delivery date I could get, I overhear a couple talking about the Front Load machines, I start looking around and I see rebates, steam, and all this jazz. When the sales guy returned, I begin to ask questions about the front loader machines. The guy was a wealth of information however I was not going to take the Sales Pitch so I started doing research on my own and I realized how much I was in the stone age about washers and dryers. After I did my research, I begin to search for a model in my price range and I also read most of the reviews here. The night I brought this machine, I was down to two models. This machine and the LG Machine. They are pretty similiar with the exception being the LG has 5 rinse tempertures(3 more than the Maytag), the LG includes hoses with their purchase, however it was $105.00 more than the Maytag. I went with the Maytag and boy was I surprised at how clean my clothes came out. The biggest difference is my white clothes and the clothes I use when I do yardwork. I have a newer home so my laundry room is downstairs. With my old machine I could hear it upstairs when the spin cycle started. For those that complained about machine noise, something must be wrong with your machine. The most noise my machine makes is when it starts reviving up for the spin, other than that, I can barely hear it. The best second feature away from the Steam is the delay function. I love being able to have clothes just finishing their wash when I come home from work, so that they can go straigh to the dryer, which reminds me, people are right when they say their clothers take less drying time. I stayed in the wash room last night to watch my clothes wash and it was like watching paint dry but when it was done, I could smell the fabric softner through the door. Remember to wipe your machine down and leave the door open. This machine brought me out of the Dark ages and the Home Depot delivery guys were awesome. I dont need a dryer but I am going to get one just to have a matching set. Get this machine, it's awesome, it washed my paddling clothes and my King size comforter! Awesome machine!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Klqueenie I live my new may tag set!
I've had my new Maytag set for a few weeks now. We went from a standard set with an agitator and I really love them. The washer is easy to use and is love that it uses less water. Our clothes feel cleaner and the high spin makes drying time less. I line dry a lot and I've noticed that my clothes do not need to be outside as long. The only complaint I have is the sensitivity of the buttons. Our set is stacked so if you brush up against the power while the washer is going you may have to start the cycle over. However I think it's minor, you just have to adjust. I would definitively buy again. Also, you can't beat the warranty from Maytag! You can't beat the made in the USA either!

Purchased new November 2013 based upon excellent reviews and Maytag's reputation for standing behind their products. May 2015 terrible noise began. $97 and over 2 hours in phone calls to tell me it was going to cost over $500 in parts and $275 in labor to fix.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by NotAComplainer WORST PURCHASE EVER!!!!!!!!!
We purchased this machine because we no others that have a Maytag front loader. The first time we used it, the machine stopped working and locked my clothes inside. My clothes stayed in that water for 7 days because Maytag couldn't get anyone out fast enough to retrieve the machine. They replaced it with a new washer and after the first wash, it began making the loudest noises during the spin cycle. I recorded the machine and showed it to the manager eat Home Depot. He immediately agreed to come get the machine, gave me a refund, and allowed me to pick a new set. Very Disappointing!

Product is only one month old and we already had to call for a manufactory warranty inspection. We previously had a top load Whirlpool for 14 years that never gave us any problem. We wanted to upgrade to a new, energy efficient more quiet model, we were impressed with the reviews. What a big mistake! This washer makes loud noises and vibrates on every cycle . The technician said it needs a bearing job. Maytag customer service line it is very difficult to get through two out of the three times I had to call I have been on hold for over 20 minutes to be able to get a representative. We don't want to keep this product we bought a brand new washer not a refurbished product. We want it to be exchanged. Not worth the hassle.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by 1unhappymama DO NOT BUY THIS ONE!!!!
I bought this pair in Nov 2013. This is not made by Maytag anymore, it is owned by whirlpool. I have had service on both washer and dryer twice because they do not work as advertised. 1st time Washer was leaking because it was improperly installed and it still holds water - you can hear it when you turn the drum, .Steam feature does not work well either. Dryer is even worse. Sensor cuts dryer off when a dry spot passes by, so clothes do not dry unless you only use timed dry feature. I wish I could get my money back. Worst purchase EVER.
