Rated 5 out of 5 by Happy I replaced a simular 18 yr old stacked washer / dryer . The new design washes & drys much better. The washer is noisey ,but I am very satifyed, I would buy from Home Depot again { Rated fair only because of damage to machine ,but shipped anyway. I question is there no quality control ??? Rated 2 out of 5 by Maytag stack washer/dryer I am not satisfied with this machine. We have had a similar stack washer/dryer and it was a lot nicer. The washer tub has sharp edges and hurts my arms when I load and empty it. The water doesn't fill completely because of safety issues as well as it will not fill without the lid being closed. Powder detergent does not dillute in a load without my dilluting it by hand and then placing it in the washer. It is also very noisy while running and closing the dryer door sounds like a tin can with the metal being so thin. The only positive I can really think of is the clothes are turned inside out after washing so I know they are being agitated and getting clean. February 4, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by a little loud I would have given it 5 stars, but it is a little loud, I can deal with it. Cleans the clothes well and perfect size December 9, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by An Honest Review I Previously had a Frigidaire SuperCapacity Gallery stacked washer dryer for 15 years. I was fearful this new Maytag unit would increase my laundry chores due to smaller capacity. So far, I am satisfied with the capacity. I question the water level. It is too low. I understand the new government regulations, however this is already a small unit (2.5 tub capacity compared to the Frigidaire’s 3.0 tub). So why must the water level be so low when it is already smaller than a full size unit? That doesn’t make any sense. NEVER wash anything on Low water settings. ALWAYS use the highest water setting and ALWAYS select Fabric Softener setting even if you don’t’ use any. Even if you only have to wash one sock. The water splashes everywhere and over the tub and onto the floor if you use a lower setting, even on delicate cycle. If you don’t select the Fabric Softener setting, the rinse water levels are defaulted to low, even if you selected high water setting. (That’s not smart- it will ruin clothes agitating with so little water on a full load; a decent spray rinse would be better). During the ending rinse/spin cycle, there is 2 very short spray rinses during spin. They hardly touch the clothes and are too short and thus pretty pointless except maybe to help wash excess suds out of the tub. The longest cycle time from start to finish was about 45 minutes (Heavy Duty with High water level setting). That’s great compared to the ridiculous times of the new HE washers. The cleaning factor is great thus far, but I fear the aggressive duel-action agitator will fray clothing. The delicate cycle needs to be more delicate if you know what I’m saying. The dryer is awesome. I love the lent trap compared to the Frigidaire that caused lent to fly everywhere every time you opened the door, this one is neat and easy to clean. I love being able to turn the signal off too. The Frigidaire model was so loud it could wake the dead. The Maytag Washer is much louder than the Frigidaire, but it isn’t unbearable. I prefer the chug-chug sounds to the constant whine noise the Frigidaire made. The Maytag unit is actually bigger and takes up more floor space than the Frigidaire model, even though it is smaller capacity. But it does seem sturdy and strong; I hope it lasts as long as my Frigidaire W/D did. December 3, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Simply Terrific This stackable is a replacement for a previous washer/dryer combination with more bells and whistles that I could ever possibly understand how to use. The beauty of this duo is it's simplicity. Few dials, easy to operate, and with enough variety of settings to do anything I want. I especially appreciate the sensor dry feature. Very energy-efficient. November 8, 2014
