Customer Questions & Answers

Pba ,can they be used to grow plants for consumption

Asked by: Sam
I bought these Mixing Tubs this week at Lowe's and Home Depot in Poway, CA. There were 3 sizes. All had "ODJOB" embossed on one or both handgrips. All are a solid flexible black PVC plastic, about .08" thick. The Medium at Lowe's and Home Depot appear absolutely identical, tho marked with different capacity. At HD, Medium is #887101C, P# 10230 L#10231, 9 US Gallons 34L, 27.5x20x6", 2.42lb, and Large is #887102C, P# 10232 L#10233, 21 US Gallons 79,49 L, 36x24x7.87", 4.44lb, with MAT Midwest Air Technologies on the label. At Lowes, Medium is P#04924 L#02560, Lowes 19251, 27 L 7 Gal, 27.9x20.3x6.3", and Large is P#04926 L#02561, Lowes 19251, 54 L 14 Gal, 32.6x20.3x8.3", Made in Toronto, CA by SCEPTER CANADA www.septre.ca. Online, Lowes calls these MacCourt Drywall Mud Pan. I hope this helps in your search for these for the UK.

Medium Mixing Tub is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 86.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Litter Box This makes a fantastic litter box for cats! The sides are not too low or high, it is super easy to clean and sanitize, and is actually an appropriate size for small to medium cats. Most commercial boxes are too small. Cheaper and larger than most commercial litterboxes, highly recommended. (I am a degreed pet behaviorist and recommend these to my clients for this purpose.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked great :) I used this as part of a project, to make a child's water/activity table. The mixing table holds water or sand and a child (in this case my grandson, 2 yrs old) can either play with his bathtub toys (using water) or trucks (using sand) He loves it and spends alot of time playing with it!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Cat litter box YES, Concrete NO Works better than any box sold as a litter box for cats or small dogs but plastic is much to thin for mixing Concrete, be sure to buy two, one for a backup. Thicker plastic would be worth double the cost. Large Maine coon cat likes to scratch in it, no litter over side, claws stay short. Higher sides would be better for both uses. OK for brick/stone mortar which is what i used larger size for.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from BRITTLE JUNK!!!!!! This tub is far too brittle to use for mixing concrete. I have one that I bought a few years ago that has seen better days, but I will continue to use it now that I've seen this new version. The corner shattered (a large hole with several broken pieces) on the very first stirring of the very first 60lb bag . . . and I was being gentle so as not to slosh anything out of it; ironic considering the mess caused by the breakage. In comparing it to my older mixing tub I see that this new one is several millimeters thinner and exponentially more brittle. When I went to throw it away I just had to gently bend it to break it into several small pieces to fit in the trash.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic for a cat litter pan This product is fantastic for a cat litter pan. The rounded corners make it easy to scoop and clean. Who knew!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from 9 US Gallons on the label, not 10 as in the description. Made in Canada. Seem to be of good quality. Great for what I use them for -a place for large potted plants to sit in during the hot summers and excess watering is not wasted.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great cat litter tray! my cats needed a big tray, this does a great job. I put it in the spare bathroom tub, keeps all the mess in one place.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Edges/handles are weak and will shatter Don't try to move one with cement in it, the edges will break. I use about 8 of them for vermicomposting and have had them shatter and drop right out of my hands, leaving me holding two pieces of plastic (and they weren't that heavy). I noticed people like them for cat litter boxes but be careful lifting them up to empty as they will likely break. It's too bad because they are a nice size and have curved ends but as they continue to break I will be replacing them with bus tubs that can handle being used.
