Answer:
No, you need the smaller size for an air compressor, probably 1/4" or 3/8". This fits on a garden hose with 5/8" hose threads. Plus, it would not be airtight.

Answer:
John-R the 1.97 quick connectors are not made of durable material. They look like brass but are likely brass coated aluminum because the wore too quickly on my garden faucet. Get a compressor connector made for air compressors in the tools department. Seen in the photograph, there are two different connector configurations that I am aware of.

Answer:
Hi John-R,
The Melnor 45c quick connect coupling is only intended for use with water hose.
Air compressor fittings use pipe thread sizes. Compressors use their own unique quick couplings.
The Home Depot offers a wide variety of these couplings.
Water hoses are also unique and standard, but they are different than air.

Answer:
Actual hose diameter isn't important. These fittings have standard 3/4" hose threads. Anything sold as a garden hose will have the same. Be aware that 3/4" "hose thread" is not the same as 3/4" "pipe thread"

Answer:
Howdy Busybee,
This is for 3/4 inch hoses and the connectors are 5/8 inch.
While this is possible, it would be advisable to check your local Home Depot for parts to make it work.

Answer:
I doubt it. Pressure washers typically use a different sized coupling. Home depot should have them in the pressure washer area, though the bins can get a bit disheveled. I think the standard hose fittings lack the ability to handle the extra pressure.

2-Piece Metal Starter Set is rated 3.5 out of 5 by 124.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from ok but not great I was excited to purchase the metal disconnects so that I did not have to keep unscrewing my watering wand, spray nozzle, and my osculating sprinkler. I added the disconnects to my sprinkler and my watering wand and found that they work with ease and I do not have to shut the water off every time I want to switch a tool. The problem that I have come across is that they are not always water tight. I have found because of the sloppiness of the connection, sometimes water does leak from the connectors. The water is not leaking bad enough for me to return the connectors just yet, but if they do continue leaking, I will be returning them. All in all, I am happy with the convenience of the connectors but I am unhappy that they leak.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Works initially, but over time corrodes I thought these were great until I let one sit for about a year connected to my hose. The aluminum in this welded itself to my garden hose. I had to put it in a vise and use a pair of 18" channel locks to get the hose to come loose. This, of course, destroyed the aluminum fitting, and nearly damaged my hose coupling beyond repair. There was significant corrosion in between the adapter and hose coupling from the aluminum. If these were made in brass, they would be great!

So far, it works great and without any leaks. This connection is on a faucet that is on the south side of my house, so it gets a lot of sun. It will be interesting to see how long the plastic parts hold up, but they are not particularly needed for operation. They just make it more convenient for connecting and disconnecting.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Why did I wait so long This simple hose attachment has saved me countless frustrating moments of disconnecting my water-hose and reattaching it to something else. Just put a male attachment to each of your nozzles, pressure washers and sprinkler systems and immediately you live longer by reducing the level of frustration in your life. I wish everything was as simple.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No leak quick connect Simple and beautiful to use. With the added bonus of water not gushing every where when you change the heads. So now you don't have to turn the pipe off or kink the hose or get wet when you swap heads it's so easy and wet free. Love it! This is the second one I have bought.

Lighter weight than the same product of half-dozen years ago; slightly less substantial metal work in the male fixture; still as functional as ever. The female unit has to be oiled each season to prevent binding and freezing up. Nothing's changed there.

These items are great! i use them on all my hose devices. it helps make tool changes and adding hoses very easy and helps keep the need for new rubber o rings down to a minimum and no tools are needed to swap sprinklers and hoses. The rubber parts are not sturdy enough for a strong tightening amd I had to use a new washer to stop the leak. Would prefer all Brass versus soft metal.
