I needed a timer to control a sprinkler from a somewhat restricted-access water spigot. Although this unit is made of plastic (including the threaded hose connectors) it is fairly heavy duty and appears to be sturdy. The control dial is ratcheted so you can't rotate it backwards, which is fine but it could benefit from a molded-in arrow reminding the user to only rotate it one way. Overall, it serves my purpose well.

Placed on water spout and attached to hose...water leaked all over

This flowmeter works by volume, not time. Just turn the dial and it starts flowing, then will shut off after the volume is reached, no buttons, no batteries.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by ohnoiusetoomuchwater May work, but not at low flow rate
This device attempts to measure the flow of water and shut off after a configured amount has been delivered. Unfortunately, it seems to need a rate of several gallons per minute, which doesn't satisfy my requirements. The package itself does not indicate this, other than "not recommended for low pressure drip systems."

Difficult to read timer/flow gauge as my outside spiquets are only 10 inches above ground so
gauge is ~5 inches from ground.

The meter is easy to install but it didn't fulfill my expectations.
I wanted this meter to be able to show how many gallons I was using when attached to my hose, and the online description gave me the indication this was a function of the meter, but it isn't.
The meter only lets you set how many gallons to use at a single time.

I had previously used a mechanical timer. My local Home Depot doesn't stock them any more, but I found them online and had one delivered to the store. Twelve dollars later, I have something I can rely on. I had two digital timers fail on me, so I was really glad to find the mechanical one still available. The digital ones don't seem to be reliable, and they're much more expensive.

This flowmeter works well, however I wish the adjustments were more precise, I would like to be able to decide to use exactly 50 gal, or water for exactly 15 min, it's a bit of a guessing game. But, when the meter is set to approx your desired amount it will stop the water, yes the water will stop so that's a great feature, can you believe it, it does what it claims and meters the water, yea. For the money I was happy enough.
Con: No instructions, if you want to just use unlimited water then you must set device to MANUAL right between the 2 markings at the top, you'll figure it out.
