Answer:
I don't think the "where" is all that important in that to me it is the size that matters more. These are very large pieces so it is important to get sufficient adhesive applied to the wall or tile when putting them on the walls. All I can tell you is that I used a trowel with 1/4 inch square notches and it worked fine for my application.

Good morning,
We would recommend a v-notch trowel in 1/4" or 3/16" for a wall application of this tile.
Hope that helps!

Hey yldbill,
You would use a QEP V-notched trowel rated for vertical applications.
Here is a link for one I recommend.

Good Afternoon,
Even though this product is able to be used in heavy traffic areas, this does not necessarily mean that it will be harder on people’s feet. Being that it is tile it could have an effect on your feet, regardless of the durability. This tile is textured and has slight dimension throughout the tile. We have had customers install this tile on interior floors and shower floors with much success. Comfort is ultimately a matter of personal preference, so you need to decide for yourself if this product is something that you can use in your home. We would encourage ordering this tile and judging for yourself how you feel about walking in bare feet on this tile. Home Depot offers a 90-day return policy on unused merchandise returned in the full quantity it is sold (this tile is sold as a case). If you have any further questions, please reach out to our customer service team at (800)-963-7652. Hope this helps!

What would be the best size spacer to use with this product if you want an even flow? I can't tell how much space is between the assembled stone look in the tile.

Answer:
You do not use spacers. Pieces designed to fit snuggly together which helps conceal the seams. I believe that trying to use spacers would ruin the affect you're supposed to get.

Hey RRTraveler,
Great question you asked. Since this is an organic width, it looks to me as though it varies from 1/16" to even 1/4" in some spaces.
However, you can use a mix of 1/16" and 1/8" to give that natural appearance, just place it in a random fashion when the time comes to install it.

Good morning,
The Attica Caldera is a semi-vitreous tile that is suggested for indoor use. Ceramic tiles tend to be suggested for indoor use because their water absorption makes the tile susceptible to freezing. However, it should be suitable for areas that do not experience freezing temperatures.
Besides the obvious, beautiful, natural stone look, it is a PEI 5 tile (meaning it handles surface abrasion marvelously) and it has a COF (Coefficient of Friction) Rating of .8. This designates the tile as highly skid resistant and makes it exceed ADA Guidelines. Provided that the tile is not exposed to freezing temperatures, it would be suitable for your patio and walkway.
If you need something that will be suitable outdoors, regardless of the climate, we suggest looking for something in porcelain. If you search the link below, you’ll see a variety of options that are porcelain and feature a stone look.

I'm not familiar with central Texas per se but I do not see why not unless the fact that temperatures can go up to and over !00F for extended periods might cause the tile to expand and crack or buckle. They are designed to lay very close to each other with very small (almost invisible grout lines). Expansion could be a factor considering they are large tiles. You might have to consider that possibility and check locally for more information. That is not an issue where we live in the northeast.
We have found this tile to be very durable. We used them in our front entrance way and they are fine. Other than my concerns about the effects of temperature, I do not see any reason not to use them outdoors. Style wise, I think they would be very attractive. I would caution you that because these are very large tiles, it will be extra important to make sure they are laid on a properly prepared base that is flat to insure they do not crack under the pressure of foot traffic. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Beautiful Tile The tile was used in a shower. The look is fabulous and very different. Installation is a challenge since the tile is not a straight cut. We did a totally random pattern which makes it look more like real stone. We have had a lot of compliments on the tile. August 2, 2016

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great looking tile I ordered 8 cases. 1 complete case arrived broken; however, my contractor was able to use it anyway for areas that needed cut pieces. I like the way the finished project looks and have gotten good comments from friends and family. We used pewter caulk which seems to be a good match to the lines in the tile "between stones." We also used 511 Impregnator sealer over tile and grout. The bathroom is small and it's hard to get a good photograph of the complete project, but I tried and did include some. My contractors comment was, now that he has worked with this wavy edge, large tile, he feels confident he can work with any tile. I only took my star rating down because of the complete case of broken tile. February 19, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Attica Caldera Tile This tile is dense and colored perfectly! Each piece interlocks with the next tightly with minimal to no need for grout. I used this on a wall above a fireplace. A great alternative to other faux stones that stick out way too much from the wall April 16, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Buy! This is not in the stores so I was a little nervous about selecting tile online. It turned out great! The tile fits like a jigsaw so it was really easy to apply to my kitchen peninsula. This was my first tile job so it went slow, but it was worth doing it myself (after the free home depot workshop, ofcourse). The ONLY reason why I gave it a 4 was because 2 of the tile came damaged. But I was able to use them for some of the slimmer cuts that I needed. May 26, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Thrilled and delighted! After months of agonizing over tile for our two entry ways, we found this. The color and style seemed just what we would like so we ordered it. Putting it down was very weird due to the scalloped edges but once we grasped the concept as a jigsaw puzzle it went quickly. Cutting the tile for the edges was also a bit strange as the scallops had to be retained, but once again it was merely a matter of figuring out what was needed. The instructions were generic, pretty much worthless. Now that it is all down, grouted and sealed, we are extremely pleased. A favorite games is "find the seam", almost impossible to do thanks to the random waviness of the design. Whoever designed this product is a genius! November 15, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Looks nice, but a lot of tile cutting I used this tile for a basement shower installation. Given the fairly small space, there were a LOT of cuts. I think out of about 50 tiles, there were only 8 that didn't need to be cut on at least one side. That created a lot of waste. The nice thing was that with such large tiles, tiling the shower was a very fast job, even with all the cutting. This was my first home project with tile work. The uneven edges on the tiles required just a little more planning on where and how to start laying the tiles, and as others have mentioned, be sure to rotate the tiles around when applying so that the pattern isn't so obvious. The wavy lines make for very simple installation, and you don't have to be super critical that every gap between tiles is perfect. I used 1/8 spacers and they seemed to leave a nice line once those spaces and the other gaps between individual stones were grouted. I used Winter Grey grout, unsanded on the tile, and sanded on the trim. Both matched very well. I will say that sponging the grout required CONSTANT rinsing of the sponge. On the unsanded grout, I had to rinse out the sponge in fresh running water after every single swipe with the sponge. It took about 4 hours just to grout the shower walls, due to all the rinsing and wiping. Once I got the grout off of the "stones", it dried in a couple of hours to a haze which wiped off pretty easy with cheesecloth, leaving a very nice looking wall. I'd say well worth the additional effort. April 5, 2015
