What color grout looks good with this tile?

My mortar was white. Some places mortar squeezed out since tiles are thing. I wiped them off. Those places where the white mortar are like a grout, the white tiles looked washed out, so I am thinking that white grout ( snow white in this case) may look washed out too. What have people used and what do you guys recommend? I do know that grout has different shine than mortar.

Thanks,

We used the a gray grout. Merola.com has examples of this tile with white (too washed out) and black (too busy for my taste) grout. We chose a medium gray that I think was just what we were looking for. The while tiles don't get lost, but you aren't staring at the grout instead of the tile.

Are the white tiles glazed or unglazed?

This is a matte finish tile. The glaze is not shiny. I didn't want shiny/slippery, either, and this was just what I was looking for.

The matte and the shiny white are both glazed. The matte has less of a shine. It is kind of like using eggshell paint as opposed to semi-gloss or glossy.

Tiles are glazed. 1/4 inch thick tile. Use V trowel to lay the mortar. Work with the tile slowly. Do not rush or have to redo several times.

It's matte finished. But the tiles are glazed, if that makes any sense. They are not super shiny but there is a slight sheen.

Answer:
Good morning,
It's both! Glazed tiles simply mean there has been a glaze applied to the tile, but glazes can be matte, shiny, satin, or any degree in between. This particular tile has more of a satin finish. It's not very shiny, but it's not purely matte either. Any of the tiles in the Metro Matte line will have the same type of low-sheen glaze applied to them.
Hopefully that helps!

Answer:
Hi Wheeljack,
This product is not out of stock permanently. When you see 'Online Exclusive' that simply means the product isn't stocked on shelves, but IS available online and via special order in store. It is currently out of stock, though, and is due back mid-July 2012.
Thanks for your interest in our products!

Rated 4.6 out of 5 by 39 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Looks even better installed Installed in a small bathroom. I wanted a touch of accent in an otherwise mainly white tiled room. The flex sheet of small tiles makes working around things so easy. Going with black grout (on the floor) - can't wait for the finished result October 18, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Terrific tile This tile was a perfect choice for our downstairs guest bathroom in our 1902 house. The look was exactly what we wanted, and the gray grout gives just the right amount of contrast without being washed out (white grout) or too busy (black grout). The tile was relatively easy to work with - mosaic tile is more fussy than most, but this was no worse than any other, and the finished results were just what we wanted. We had the product shipped directly to the store for pick-up, and that worked without a hitch. August 3, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great looking tile! A bit expensive per sheet, but definitely happy with how the floor looks! Each sheet within each box of 10 was individually wrapped, so we had no issues with loose/broken tiles for such a small pattern. October 18, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Classic look and easy to install The Metro Hex mosaic tile is a perfect compliment to our subway tiled walls. The single black hex accent is nice and doesn't overwhelm the floor's look even with black grout. The matte finish is great too (at least for us). Not a fan of gloss tiles, especially in our petite bathroom. September 28, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Porcelain Mosaic bathroom tile This tile was very easy to cut and install. The contrast of the black and while has a great look. July 19, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Great Tile, but no partial box returns available I really like this tile, but be aware that if you have to buy an extra case for a sheet or two, you will not be able to return the remaining full sheets like you could at Lowe's. August 1, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Tile Good product difficult to work with. Looks great. Nice finish. July 6, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great bathroom tile We installed this tile in a guest bathroom in an old farmhouse and we weren't sure if it would complement the look and feel of the house. It worked out just fine and goes perfectly with the farmhouse's casual motif. The tile was very nicely packaged; none of the sheets had any breaks; and the tile was perfectly placed on each sheet. We plan to use this tile now in the master bath. May 31, 2016
