Hi Jennifer,
Unfortunately, this product is being discontinued. However, we have a new collection taking the place of this Old World Unglazed collection. The new collection is called Gotham Unglazed, and I've linked several of the options (including the antique white with dot) below.
Hope that helps!

Hi Maree,
As long as these tiles are installed properly and cared for, they should not be difficult to clean. Here are some steps you can take to make sure your tile will be easy to care for:

Hi Maree,

1. After laying the tile into the thinset, apply a penetrating sealer.
2. Apply your grout, then make sure the grout is thoroughly removed from the tile's surface, using the rubber float and a damp tiling sponge.
3. If there is still grout haze after the grout has cured, use a grout haze remover. Leftover grout on the tile's surface will 'catch' dirt if not removed.
4. Apply the penetrating sealer after grout has cured and all grout haze is gone.
Then, simply sweep the tile surface regularly and clean with mild cleaners as needed.

Answer (1)

Answer:
Hello Darlene,
Generally glazed and unglazed tiles have the same upkeep. However, unglazed tile does not show the normal wear glazed tiles can because it color is true throughout, not a glazed surface that is susceptible to wear over time. An option to prevent staining on unglazed tiles is to seal them after installation.
I hope this helps!

Customer Reviews

Rated 3.5 out of 5 by 11 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect for our 1926 cottage We have a 1926 cottage and this tile is the exact shape and finish as the tile that is in the original bathroom. The color is not white - it is more of a beige/cream - so I couldn't use them to replace a few tiles in that bathroom that had cracked. However, they were perfect for the redo of our downstairs powder room - I think if most people came to look they would think the tile was original. I did not think the tile was too thin - seemed to be the same thickness as our original tile. I can not speak for the installation, except it only took our guy an hour or so to install. June 4, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by great classic tile Looks great on the floor, and blends well with a 110 year old house. Make sure the subfloor is extremely flat before install, you can see the bumps if your not careful. Still not sure what the best grout type would be; sanded vs. unsanded. We did unsanded and it's a pain to work with. Most retailers say the 1/16" line requires unsanded, but I'm not convinced. I highly recommend you seal the tile before grouting. I didn't and regret it. Also, the color of the tile is kind of a cream with charcoal accents. Absolutely no instructions or information within the packaging. January 9, 2010
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Impossible to clean We purchased this tile when we bought our 1920's home and gutted it. We used it in the main bathroom. I love the style and color, but the tile itself is an absolute nightmare to clean. I had read the reviews on line and told our contractor to have the tile installers seal it twice- but there is still no cleaning this tile. My floor looks dirty 24/7. If anyone out there has any cleaning recomendations I would love to hear them. My only solution is to redo the entire floor, but that is going to have to wait for quite some time! June 11, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by JUST WHAT I WANTED! This tile is reasonably priced but looks like a million bucks! It gives my bathroom the look I wanted. It's definitely thin but it worked for me. It was more difficult to install than I was prepared for. If I had it to do again I would recommend hiring a professional. The customer service was incredible, when I needed an extra box they found the same manufacture date so the color would be uniform. Thanks Home Depot and Merola! September 13, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Authentic vintage look I was a bit concerned after reading some of the other reviews, but the tile looks just as I envisioned based on the description. There is some level of variation in the color of the tiles, even within each sheet, so mixing and matching between boxes of tile shouldn't be a concern. Looks great in the bathroom of my 200 year old home. March 12, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Not 'Antique White' I don't know what color antique white is supposed to be, but these were more gray in appearance than white. We ended up returning these and getting the matte glazed tiles instead. If that is the color you're going for, the product itself appeared to be well made and arrived intact. February 22, 2012
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not the Quality or Color Expected I wanted an off-white tile, but this tile was beige and off-black. Didn't like surface texture and the tile felt too thin to the touch compared with other tile I have looked at. Did like the pattern. October 18, 2011
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by quality control is an issue with this tile our tile order came from two different lots, and colors did not match. We had to re-order to get enough tile all of teh same color.. lots of variation in tile color, even within one tile square April 17, 2012
