Good morning,
Our Spiral Black/White has an overall Coefficient of Friction of .5 which makes it marginally skid resistant. The bullet points for this product state the following: Slip-resistance/Coefficient of Friction rating of .50 wet is marginally skid resistant for indoor use and is recommended for standard residential applications. Marginally skid resistant means that it is slightly slip resistant, not enough to be approved by the ADA. But because this is a mosaic, the many grout lines between the mosaic pieces do provide additional grit and slip resistance.

Hi Ray,
Because the grout lines in this tile are small, we recommend unsanded grout. Hope that helps!

Need to verify slip resistance. A previous answer from Merola says .60 and ADA compliant and recommends looking at Home Depot descriptions for more info. But Home Depot description for this tile says .50 and marginally slip resistant. I would like to know before I consider using this on our shower floor!

Good Morning,
The variation of tint between tiles can be very subjective, while one person might call this tile Bright White another might call it Bone White or Ivory White. Products such as this can look different in person than they would online. Additionally, the color difference between computer monitors can change the way a tile looks. In cases like this, it is of most benefit to you to have the actual tile in hand so that you can truly get a feel for the color and whether or not it is right for you.
Your best option would be to order one tile from HD.com that way you can get a closer look. The Home Depot has a "No-Hassle" Returns Policy and accepts returns both online and at any local Home Depot location should you decide to return the product. Currently, HomeDepot.com accepts returns on items in the original Unit of Measure purchased. In other words, items sold as individual pieces can be returned as such, while items sold as cases can only be returned as cases.

Customer Reviews

Rated 3.8 out of 5 by 16 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Gave up and threw it out The tile is attractive but to look really good it requires perfectly straight grout lines between the sheets of tile. I made two attempts and finally tore the whole thing up and threw out the ruined tile. I could not get a consistently straight grout line even with spacers. I wondered why that was since I've laid tile before, so I measured some of the remaining sheets. Some were 12 1/2 inches, some were 12 9/16 inches and some were 12 5/8 inches. If the tile sheets are not consistent in size, you will never get a nice straight grout line. If one sheet is too big by even 1/16 inch it will mess up the grout line for that whole row of tiles and every subsequent row. It won't look straight no matter how you install it. The bottom line was $200 worth of tile thrown out and a lot of time wasted. July 26, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Nice looking tile but... The tile sheets are so inconsistent in size that it is not possible to get straight grout lines between the sheets. I tore up the tile and threw it out. August 9, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice retro look A few tiles arrived cracked but otherwise love these tiles. Grouted with gray and they look perfect with a carerra marble vanity. June 25, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by ???? Took two try's for the tiles to be able to be used, glazing wasn't good enough to use on nine out of the ten sheets in the case. Had to make customer wait nearly two weeks for the reorder to come in.... June 7, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love this tile! I ordered this tile because I wanted the bathroom in my 1910's home to look original. It looks amazing with my white subway tile and black base and pencil tile on the walls. The black squares are a shiny finish and the white tiles are matte, which adds a little extra detail when you walk in the room. I did not install, so I can't rate the ease of installation, but my installer did it quickly so maybe it wasn't too hard. He used pewter-colored grout which makes the pattern stand out. I am very happy with this product. The picture shows a work-in-progress as we are in the midst of our rehab, but it gives you a good sense of what the floor looks like with the subway tile wainscoting. March 12, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Looks great, but some imperfections This tile looks great. I used white epoxy grout, which, IMO, gave a cleaner, more subtle look than some of the pictures I viewed where the installer used a darker grout. This was my first time using porcelain mosaic floor tile, so I found the installation to be a little challenging, but still doable for a DIYer with minimal experience laying tile. My biggest challenge was cutting a sheet of tiles with a rip tile cutter. My only complaint is that around 8 sheets had one, but usually two, imperfections, which was the only reason I didn't give the tile an execellent overall rating. Since these tiles are sold by the box, I was lucky to have purchased more than the typical 10% overage, so I didn't have to use or exchange the bad tiles. May 7, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by All but one tile arrived with chips The tile itself is attractive. The retro look would work perfectly in a small bathroom. Three boxes arrived and all but one tile had chips and dings. April 8, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love them! They look great in my bathroom! I recommend using a dark grout if you want the pattern to stand out. March 25, 2015
