Hi Nader,
Because there are so many factors involved in tile setting, we suggest no less than a 1/8” grout line for floors. It is possible to install using a smaller grout line, but any movement in the subfloor can result in cracks, chips or even a full job failure. To achieve a uniform look, you can use a grout color as close as possible to the tile's background color.

The family room is sunken 1/2 story underground. The ceiling vents do not adequately heat the room. The floor is concrete with no crawl space underneath.

Answer:
Hi Marcia,
This tile would be safe with an electric heating mat under it, as long as the manufacturer of the heating mat agrees that is it suitable for that purpose. Ceramic tile can withstand quite high temperatures, so we would just recommend double checking with the heating mat supplier as to its usage under tile.
Hope that helps!

How do you grout this tile? Can it be used to cover an existing kitchen counter top?

Answer:
Hi Jim,
This tile would be grouted like any other ceramic field tile. You would grout between the joints of each 18x18 tile. We would not recommend this for countertop usage as the finish is glossy and can get slippery when water is on it, but the design decision is ultimately up to you.
Hope that helps!

Rated 5.0 out of 5 by 4 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by High gloss, beautiful These tiles are really beautiful. I have them in my kitchen and dining room. My only gripe is that they are so glossy and smooth that when they are wet they are very slippery. Aside from that I am very happy with them. The color is very warm, the wood looks very realistic even though it's obviously grouted ceramic tile, and though I've dropped heavy pans on them more than once they've never cracked. June 30, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by This wood tile is gorgeous!! The tile is photographed well on this website and while it is obviously not a wood tongue and groove flooring, it has all the advantages of porcelain tile. March 25, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Really like this Tile! I had this tile installed in one bathroom and like it sooooooo much that I'm having it installed in a second bathroom as I type this review. It is absolutely stunning on the floor. July 23, 2013
