Answer:
It depends on type of roofing sheets you use and how windy it is in your location. My rough estimate - minimum 30 screws per 16' sheet of 3' wide Galvalume.

Answer:
It depends on roofing panels - check what manufacturer is recommending. It depends on ridge height. You may also find that your types of panels do not require 1x4 if installed over shingles. Again, check roofing panel installation manuals.

These screws were perfect to secure the metal roofing I had purchased from HD and they were a good value. Installed them with my battery power drill with the clutch ratchet release dialed to achieve correct washer compression each time; easy anchored system. However, I order way too many screws for my project. I should have study the installation sheets provided on their web site by HD for the metal roofing more closely before I ordered. However after the project was completed I was able to returned the unused, unopened bags of screws to HD for a full refund, no problem, no hassle.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from perfect... if your installing the roof panels, get these. They feature a machined "drill" bit type point to them, that the in store brand do not. I ran out, and had to get some from in store, they tended to slip and move a ton. They didnt bite in right away, took some force, whereas these didnt.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great product good product. easy to install without pre-drilling. Seller recommended 80 nails per panel I bought, but it is not required according to my experience, use your common sense when buying this,. returned extra un open bags

Rated 4 out of 5 by from good vaue nice products, ease to screwed, BUT DO NOT OVER TIGHTED, IF YOUR INSTALLATING METAL ROOFING, NONE INDICATED HOW MANY SCRWS TO USE ON A GIVEN PANEL. SO WE HAVE BAG ALMOST FULL { 250 IN BAG)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Galvalume Wood Screw Other than the fact we did not order enough, there have been no issues with them that I am aware of. We just went to the local Home Depot store and got some more of the same type of screws.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Heads strip easily Easy to strip the heads before the product goes in far enough if not careful. Performance improved with practice but many screws were wasted. Product does what it is designed to do.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good product I bought several bags to use for re-roofing of my garage and barn. I did not see any problems with screws during installation. The price was the best I could find.
