Answer:
It depends on type of roofing sheets you use and how windy it is in your location. My rough estimate - minimum 30 screws per 16' sheet of 3' wide Galvalume.

Answer:
It depends on roofing panels - check what manufacturer is recommending. It depends on ridge height. You may also find that your types of panels do not require 1x4 if installed over shingles. Again, check roofing panel installation manuals.

I plan to buy all burnished brown colored metal roof and flashing. I'd like the screw heads to be color matched to the roof and flashing since the screw heads will be visible. Can I get screws in burnished brown also?

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect for the job These screws did a fine job of securing the galvalume panels for my carport roof. I used my rechargeable drill to first drill a starter hole, then used another with a magnetic socket to place the screw. Once snugged down, the gasket smashes down to make a perfect water tight seal. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by DID THE JOB I am building a metal shed for my lawn mower. The sides & roof are galvanized corrugated sheets. I used these screws to secure the sheets to the frame. I did pre drill all the holes first as I had bought the heavier gauge sheets. These screws did the job. I am very pleased with the result. March 2, 2016
